has anyone owned both a 2008 rh 400 and a 2010 rh 450 to compare mileage? and how are these cars on long trips?

If you go to 450h sub forum at the top of the list of forum topics, you will find a 450h mileage thread. Since you are in MA, I would expect you are going to get the AWD and I think you will see 26 to 28 on freeway driving. Speed is critical, the slower you go the higher your mileage.

Welcome to CL, vml3930. Here is the mileage thread UCSB mentioned. We have a few members that switched from the 400h to the 450h, maybe not the exact years you mentioned, but close enough to give you an idea. I haven't taken the RXh on long trips myself but others have and it performs well.
