you can see the tranny cooler if you look through the vents in the forward part of the wheel well liner. pictured is my 2010.

the second thing you will have with the tow package is the trailer light connection (where you plug in the towing socket in the diagram), drivers side behind the rear wheel inside the bottom protective tray.

True, I noticed that for the first time a few days ago and thought I had broken something.

Thanks for the picture, mohrd. I've removed the liner several times but never took a picture beforehand. I'd still like to know if the open vent in the black trim piece is only on RXs with the tow package. They just about line up with the ones in the wheel well.

I believe there is a little plug for the electrical harness under the rear bumper on the left if you have the towing prep package.

Hi Anita, any pictures? Hard to imagine what you're talking about. I can take some pictures of my 350 later too.

Hi All,

Sorry for the newb question, but I searched the forums and couldn't find any information. I am looking to purchase a ball mount for my hitch, but I am seeing conflicting information.

The mount that Sewell sells looks like it has a 0" drop:
http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2010/2598.html

However I remember other forum members purchased the Curt towing starter kit with 2" drop:
http://www.thehitchstore.com/curt-to...ll-p-3955.html

Also, it sound like a 2" ball is the way to go? And what about the length of the ball mount?

I will most likely be using it to tow u-haul trailers on vacations so I am looking for a one-size-fits-all application.

Thanks,
Eric

Just put the question to Lexus Canada. Sent our VIN & asked to confirm if trailer package prepped or not.
I do see the vents & tranny cooler on the car.
Is this a larger cooler vs. the non-prepped car or is it the cooler available with the tow package?

Marqevans - I think you are right. You do have to look carefully to find the connector, though.

Default Rear connector doesn't mean you have tow prep.

At least on my 2013 WITHOUT the tow prep package this connector is there anyway, What's missing from an electrical perspective is the controller behind the left panel inside the hatch.

Our 2011 has the trailer prep package. A "Flat 4" connector should "plug and play". How do you get to the connector, the above diagram looks like you remove the bumper. There should be an easier way. I would think with the trailer prep pkg the controller is already there. Craig's has a very nice hidden hitch for <$150 and offer 2 types of wiring harness's. I am trying to figure out which one to get. I want the flat 4 plug to store inside the car, not an outside connection.....they corrode.

This answers the question for any '10 model year RX sold in Canada. Cannot confirm this was continued to subsequent years.

Dear Mr. Craig:

Thank you for your correspondence.

We have noted your inquiry and would like to explain that your 2010 RX 350 was purchased and equipped with Premium Package 2. This package includes:

Perforated Leather Seat Surfaces
Heated & Ventilated Front Seats
Driver Seat Memory System
Auto Dimming Side View Mirrors
Power Moonroof
Power Rear Door with Jam Protection
Bi-Xenon HID Headlamps

Adaptive Front Lighting System
Backup Camera
1 Wallet Size Smart Card Key
Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror with Integrated Backup Camera

We would also like to explain that Canadian Specification vans and trucks come equipped with a towing package. This package includes heavy duty battery, starter, alternator and transmission cooler. Please be advised your 2010 RX 350 has a towing capacity of 3500 lbs.
