Default Leather and Babyseat problems.

Had a babyseat in my RX for a while now. Removed it tonight and there are 4 places where the seat has pushed into the leather. There is no tear or scratches of any sort and the leather is intact but it seems that the foam in the chair has been pushed down due to the 4 round things at the bottom of the baby seat. Any ideas on how to get rid of this? Will it just become normal as time goes on?

Just thinking out loud, but the concentrated load on the four glides(?) may have stretched the leather. A question perhaps for the detailing forum on how to "shrink" the leather back into shape.

A thought might be to use swimming pool toy "noodle" foam to cover the bottom rails and the glides to distribute the pressure over a wider area. Some parents may have to tell us if that would affect the safety of the child's seat. Just leave the noodle in the car and don't leave it on the child's seat or it will get dirty and then you'll be pushing that into your leather.

Again, maybe not an answer, just thinking out loud.

I had a go with smoothing out the leather with my hands. Just prodded it in many places with my finger. Ive pretty much got rid of 3 of the indents. The 4th one is a bit longer but much better than before. Glad I spotted it pretty early on. Ive just put a piece of carpet underneath

Something that I've learned is to put a towel under any infant seat. With the LATCH system, it is so tight that the infant seat just digs into the leather.

Thanks rayaans, I had the carseat on the CT for awhile with no issues on the NuLuxe interior as soft to the hands it felt, it was very strong. I will have to put a thicker towel under the carseat this week.

A towel or similar will help with the dents/depressions and also marks or abrasions to the seat.

When we get the grandchildren we double an old quilt in the backseat under the car seats.
