Default Key Fob warranty?

Hello,
My Fob just had the battery replaced and the door lock and rear hatch buttons on the Fob do not work. Would this be covered under warranty. All the keyless functions work but the physical push buttons do not. Thanks

Go to youtube.com and serch for Lexus RX battery replacement or Lexus battery replacement. Up should pop a few videos on how to change the battery in the fob. Use the videos to open the fob and inspect what is going on ... it only takes a second and is very easy to do. The info is also in your owners manual. You might find a simple explanation once you open the fob up ... it is a very simple design. While it is open, you might also just want to change the battery to rule out battery failure.

I think the fob would be covered under warranty, if you take the car to your dealership. But, you may be able to fix it in a minute or two if something simple is wrong.

Would be covered under the standard 4 year / 50K mile warranty with the exception of if it needs just a battery. That would not be covered as it is considered a consumable item. So, depends on when the in-service date was for your RX and how many miles you have on it plus what is wrong with the key fob.

Putting in a known good battery would be your first step.

I have replaced the battery in both fobs. That did not help this fob though. Thanks for the info.

Then, if you are still under warranty it is time to take your RX to the dealer. Possibly a problem with the receiver unit or something so silly it might only take a few seconds for the shop to address. No way to know until they have a look.
