Default Tire Pressure Warning System

Is this a standard feature in the 2013 RX350? Page 774 of the owner's manual makes it sound like it is: "Your Lexus is equipped with a tire pressure warning system ...", but I do not see any reset switch anywhere on the lower right of the dash (page 21 of the manual). Normally the manual uses asterisks to denote options that may not be on a particular vehicle. There are no asterisks for the TPWS discussion.

There is no reset button. The system monitors tire pressure. If low, the indicator will illuminate. Once you have filled the tire to the required PSI, the light will no longer illuminate.

Well, I tend to agree with you since I searched for 20 minutes trying to find it without success. Yet the owner's manual has an entire page on "How to initialize the tire pressure warning system" and one step directs you to "Press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the tire pressure warning light blinks slowly 3 times."

A May 2009 post on this forum stated that for a 2010 RX "The switch really is there. It is not clear at all where it is located in the picture in the manual. Look to the right of the steering column about 12 to 14" back from the bottom edge of the dash. The button actually faces the floor. It is a small button about 1/4" in diameter. You will not "acidentally" find it.

Based on that post, I thought I had found it. I did find some sort of button under the dash, but when I pushed it, nothing happened. My front tires have 31.5 psi and the rear tires have 32.5 psi, so I know that part is o.k. I just can not find the reset switch!

Default TPMS reset switch - easy way to find without looking
I found the easy way to locate and reset the TPMS (tire pressure monitor system):

Turn on ignition, place your palm face up at the bottom of the dash exactly half way between the gas and brake pedals, slide arm straight back under dash 10", press and hold button a couple seconds, orange tire pressure warning light on dash flashes 3 times to confirm recalibration (establishes new base pressure after you change your tire pressure).

Car came with 35-36 psi; reset to 32 psi cold per door sticker. Rides much smoother.

Thanks for those that helped me locate it. The manual's description is not clear on locate.

Thank you wlpncp for the post. I will have to look for it myself. I was told by my dealership and numerous tire shops that the only way to reset the tpms is by the use of a specialized tool designed to "reprogram" the sensors.

It seems that the user-accessible reset button is only about resetting the baseline. So, if you want the baseline to be 30 psi instead of 32, you set your cold tires to 30 then hold the button for 3 seconds. The system resets to 30 and alarms at a manufacturer-set reduction point. The "reprogramming tool" is a gizmo that gets the sensors communicating with the car again. In Canada, we sometimes change to winter rims and tires. If you have sensors in these, you need to zap them to get them communicating with the car.

Default TPMS problem

The TPMS warning light on my 2015 RX350 came on. I checked all tires with a tire guage and the left front was only showing about 29 psi vs 32 for the 3 others on the car and about 36 for the never used spare.I put air in the left front to bring it even with the other tires and started the car but the TPMS light did not go out. I drove it around for a few blocks to see if it would go out....still on. Any ideas on what may be affecting it would be appreciated. Maybe i need to over pressurize the left front tire temporarily to get the warning light to go out?
