I just updated my 2010 NAV from 8.1 to 12.1 I would think that your 2013 had a later version then my 2010.

Could someone please tell me how to locate the version I have? I bought a 2013 in December but it had been on the lot since? Thanks Dorothy.

I purchased my 2013 in July 2012 with the 2011 maps already pre installed. My build date was 04/12 Japan. I don't know what 2013 build dates would have the current 2012 maps. Does anyone have them? Took me awhile to find out what version I had, as it doesn't say 11.1 or 12.1 as in the past. The actual maps and POI's for each version are finalized the previous September so quite a delay. I was just trying to make a point with maps and POI's not as current as we might expect, it would be nice if my 2013 at least had the current 2012 maps.

Same thing happened when we bought our now traded in 2010. Purchased in July of 2009 with 2008 version 8.1maps preinstalled. Back then they gave me a "goodwill" free 2009 version 9.1 map update when they came out a couple months later which was nice. Not this time though.

I think the usual switch is around August or September each year. So, vehicles built since maybe Sept - Oct 12' and on should have the newest map database.

Please see the snap shot of my current navi detail. Not sure if it makes a different if the car is made in Canada or Japan - mine is a F-sport so it's made in Canada.

yea we have a 2012 RX with nav, I did not want one with nav but that is what they had on the lot 2 weeks ago and we bought it. We used the nav to go from PA to Tennessee....wow was that nav off. Normally we use a garmin which is so much better. The nav had us getting there over an two hours later than our normal drive and still going the same route. is the information that bad in the system? the garmin was dead on when it comes to arrival time etc. From now on we will take out garmin along just in case....also the ability to search from "points of interest" etc is horrible. Don't know who thier supplier is to lexus but i think they would be getter off just handing you a garmin if you want nav.

Wouldn't that be awesome? They do just that on some el-cheapo models where a handheld device is either mounted on the dash or plugs into the double-din audio. Too bad such practice is not widely accepted.

Did you go into the NAV setup and check the speed setting for "city" and "highway" etc. which are adjustable ?

It sounds like that just may be why your times are so far off.

You also might check to make sure the time zones are set correctly. If they are off, your ETA can be off by an hour or so depending the time zones.

Agree, but the fact that it is so far off is crazy for such an expensive option....and we did check the time zone settings they are correct but i will check the highway city driving options...don't remember seeing them!
