Default Battery negative terminal cap

Can anyone confirm there is no negative terminal cap for the battery.
I wonder if my service dealership forgot to put it back or this is another cost cutting by Lexus.
Open the hood and peep through the rectangular opening.
Thanks.
2011RX350.

Default No cap on negative battery terminal

Here you go. I went out and snapped this photo of my 2010 RX350. No negative terminal cap, which is to be expected.

That's what mine is too. My GS has both caps for both terminals. Just curious.
Happened to clean the residues from a salty road and noticed the difference.
Thanks,

I have no idea why the battery is covered under all that plastic.

Im not talking about the rubber caps on the battery terminals. Im talking about the sea of black plastic cover over the entire engine and covering the battery

I notice now that the RXh engine covers are more concealing than the gas model. Probably not a problem for the gas model

My best educated guess is that all the plastic covers under the hood are for aesthetic and engine noise abatement reasons. Kinda like the large concrete walls along the side of the freeway protecting the expensive homes on the other side from the ugliness and noise of the traffic motoring it's way to and fro. I guess I missed out on the comments deleted by the snarky post police.

One morning I had to jump start my IS and it was pouring rain, I didnt have the patience to figure out how to remove all the black covers so I ended up having to use my C class which has an exposed battery :/

One of these days I will remove the entire engine cover and throw it in the garbage where it belongs.

I wouldn't do that, when you trade it in they will ding you for the missing covers which aren't cheap. They are there for aesthetic reasons, if you remove them you'll be treated to the usual mess of wires and plumbing. Leave 'em alone.

It's probably a good idea for anyone actually willing to open the hood if the need should arise to pick a nice day and remove and replace the covers. Took me about 45 minutes to figure out the process, especially how to release and refit the little plastic locking pins (I think I looked at the manual 3 times to make sure I wasn't going to break them while I was trying to figure them out). Now that I've done it and know what to expect, it really only takes 2 or 3 minutes to remove or replace the covers. The only hard part is making sure not to lose the pins. I can see them being easy to fall into the engine compartment never to be seen again.

Go to eBay and you can buy about 30 replacement pins for about $3.50 .... Put them in a baggie and toss them in your glove box. Cheap insurance should you break/lose them when removing them.
