Default Pause Guidance???

okay, i'm a little new to the hard drive based NAV, and they seem to have changed the voice commands. there used to be "pause guidance" in my 2010 to effectively shut up the voice telling you where to go. now in 2013, what do we say? is there a way to pause or end route guidance with a voice command. yeah yeah, i searched the forums...i couldnt find an answer.

If you are looking to fully delete the destination, I think there is a "Delete Destination" command. You might have to tell it to open up the expanded list of voice commands though ( access the second page behind the regular list with Go Home, and Call <name>.

no, no...just looking to pause an active guidance. its like when you get close to your destination and you don't need to hear the rest of it...or if you know the beginning of it and want it to shut up until you need help . it used to be 'pause guidance' and 'resume guidance'. probably 2 of the most used commands in our cars - other than 'go home'.

Doubt anyone does this, but we turn off voice guidance 100% of the time, so no need to have pause guidance. Even way back when with our portable GPS we turned off the voice. Prefer to just look at the map screen on when and where to turn. Also have the HUD. We travel full time, with new travel routes all the time, and haven't had any problems. Much more relaxing drive time in our opinion. Can still do all the voice commands if or when needed.

With HUD, that would be my choice too.

Yes, some of the voice commands seem to be missing from the '13s. Or so it seemed when I was driving a loaner.

I usually turn the voice off and just push the map button to get "her' to speak the next instruction when I need her help.

It's there, I use it all the time. When on the main map screen during guidance, go to the bottom and click where it says "Route". You'll see all the options and "Pause guidance" Route will be at the bottom.

Never mind. I just saw that you were trying to do it via voice commands. Can't help you there, sorry.
