Default Remote start on RX

Anybody had the Lexus remote start option installed on their RX350? How does it work, and how much did they charge for the install? I see the parts are around $240.

I had the remote start come included with the RX. You can turn it on by pressing the lock button three times, one press, wait for lights to flash, press again, wait for another flash, then hold until the car starts. The lights should flash a few more times, two to three, I forget. The downside is that if you try to access the car in any way, the engine shuts off. No way around that unless you choose some aftermarket option.

Sewell has it at $189 shipped to the middle of South Carolina.

Instructions and manual here:

Aftermarket are much better anyway. Better range, and you can start from your smart phone etc...
I don't have one install because I don't like getting zero mpg when car is idle
Car warm up much faster when engine is under load.

Dealer charged me $400 at the time of purchase and did a "croppy" job installing it by using a double-sided tape to affix the module to something else.

The module comes w/ instructions and apparently can be installed w/o using their computer (DIY job), it requres removing pass. knee airbag, and the glove box, and then you screw the module to its location on the side of the center console, and the instructions are very clear, step-by-step.

Unfortunately, I found the instructions only after the dealer-installed module started to rattle, beause they did not remove the air bag and glove box, and glued it above the plastic panel above pass. feet.

I, for some reason, cannot upload the instructions, but they are easy to follow.
