I am wondering if there is an easy way to take off the wooden cup holder lid so that I can remove my wife's emery board which is underneath and making the cup holder non fuctional. The lid at present won't open far enough to allow a cup to sit in it. I am sure I am not the first person with this problem. Thanks Kindly.

I got my garage parking pass from work stuck to were I could barely stick my fingers in to try to pull it out. Wasn't fun.

I used a stiff piece of cardboard with heavy duty double sided tape to insert and lift the offending item.
In my case it was an Altoids tin that had become stuck. Much easier than removing the cover.
