My 2010 RX350 Dunlop tires with 30k are shot due to inside wear. From what I've read on these forums many folks have also had alignment issues with the RX. Apparently the model doesn't hold the alignment very well.
The dealer wants to put the OEM Dunlop tires back on for about $1500. The vehicle has always exhibited a high level of road noise (which I complained to the dealer about but they just shrugged their shoulders) so I want to go with something else.
Does anyone have recommendation?

I recently replaced OEM Bridgestone [good tires] at 40k+ with Mich Primacy MXV4. Primacy MXV4 comes standard on Odyssey Touring [top] model. It is the quietest tire I have ever put on a vehicle. Recently also put on Primacy MXM4 on another vehicle but its not as quiet/smooth as Primacy MXV4. Both are LRR tires but have exceptional traction in the wet/cold weather. Primacy series cost little more but its well worth little extra money. I spent $1400 installed on four pairs [two vehicles 235-60-18 and 225-45-18] so what dealer wants to charge for two pair for $1500 is too much but that is typical “market” price. Shop around for best price because it varies depending on sizes. Tire rack usually has good price and their network of installer are plenty and have fixed price as listed. Costco is another option if you prefer local purchase with life time balance and road hazard for $14.

kerry7, welcome to CL. Do not go for the Dunlops again especially at that price. They're the cheapest of all the OE tires. I replaced mine with the Pirelli Scorpion Verdes and couldn't be happier. Here is my review on them. I went to my favorite local tire guy. Total cost out the door was around $1,200 with alignment.

My 2010 came from Japan with the Dunlops - which I hated and inistsed that Lexus Canada swap out for the higher rated (almost double wear expectation) Michelin Lattitude, which they did. I sold my 2010 in July with 50,000 km (30,000 miles) and there was still lots of tread left. They were much quieter and were a much smoother ride than the Dunlops...In fact, a friend drove with me shortly after I took delivery of the 2010 when it had the Dunlops and he said :"what the hell is wrong with your new Lexus the 2008 was a much nicer ride??" I insisted than my 2013 originiate from Cambridge and come equipped with Michelin tires. I will pick that vehicle up tomorrow and pleased to say that it was Cambridge built and has Michelins - it rides very nice I have already driven it 50 km! I waited for the Blind Spot Monitoring to become available! Good luck with your decision...but I have always been please with Michelin. (Check out Tirerack and you will find the wear rating for the Michelin vs Dunflops) I will never accpet another vehicle that is factory equipped with Dunlop or Bridgestone tires.

The second vote for the Michelin Lattitudes HP( I think it's HP). Never a problem with Michelins and they are the only tire I've used for the last 30 years.

I replaced my Dunlops at 35,000 miles with the Michelin Latitudes. Total cost was just over $1200 and included a 4 wheel alignment.

I could have easily made 40,000 with the Dunlops but replaced them with Winter coming. I had no problems with my Dunlops but after reading all of the complaints on this board I think I might have had the 1 set in 1000 that was good. I didn't want to chance it so I went with the Michelins. The dealer quoted me just over $1000 for a new set of Dunlops with the alignment.

So far I really see no difference between the Michelins and the Dunlops that I had.

Have anyone tried the Yokohama YK580? It has 60k miles warranty for HR and VR ratings. At $191 each shipped (235/55/19) it is about $100 each cheaper than Mich. tires ($400 total) (from discount tires)

I would be interested to hear if the Michelins are any better in the snow. I had the factory Dunlops on our old RX, and it was time to replace them (at 24K miles) before winter. I was also disappointed in their handling in the snow, but I don't know if that was a tire issue or a "me" issue. I would like to find out.

I had the 2010 for 3 winters here near Toronto (October 2009 delivery) ....Althought the last couple of winters have not been typical in that they have been both warmer and less snowy, I did find that there were no issues with the Michelin Lattitude HP tires with respect to handling and grip in moderate snow....We have not had a huge amount of snow to deal with but do keep in mind that they are an all season tire. I would have no hesitation in running them again this winter but hope to escape to a warmer climate now that I have retired.

I had Dunlops on my 2010 and had the same issue with the inside wear on all 4 tires. Had to replace them about 5000 miles earlier because of it back in March. Always keep the cold tire pressure at 34psi. The odd thing is, the alignment came out good when I replaced the Dunlops with Michelin Latitudes.
May have gotten a better deal somewhere else, but for convenience sake had them replaced at Parker Lexus in Little Rock while visiting the area. Total out the door price including alignment was $1373. (235/55/R19/101V). The Michelins have higher ratings, and I was very happy with the ride, so much so, that I now have Michelins on my new 2013, and the ride is excellent.
$1500 is way to high a price for the Dunlops, plus you were not happy with them. I only have experience with the Dunlops and Michelins, but of the two I prefer the Michelins.

Have always had good luck with Discount Tire/America's Tire, they are good if you travel a lot because if you have a problem with a tire they will take care of any warranty problems. Good prices, too.

Going with Yk580's as soon as my michelins wear out. I had the yk580's on my 2011 Camry and the tires were great. My friend has them on his G37 and his car rides so much better then with his stock tires. Plus the YK580's are much cheaper then the Michelin latitudes that I currently have. Check out discounttire or Americastire.
