Default 2013 Lexus RX350 or RX350 Sport?

Trying to decide between the RX350 and RX350 sport. Is the comfort/ride quality that noticeable that I should stick with the RX350.. I really like the styling of the sport. I am going to test drive them both next week, but wanted opinions on this forum?

Thank you.

I will know more tomorrow as I currently drive a 2010 RX350 and pick up my F Sport tomorrow. One thing to consider is getting the regular RX350 with "Sport Appearance Package". This option includes the F Sport grille
and the F Sport wheels. The package does not include the stiffer ride. The non-F Sport grilles don't have mesh on the upper portion but look sporty all the same (IMO).

You can actually ask the factory to put the F Sport's zig zag upper and lower grill on your luxury.
As for the black wheels, don't bother - after a while they just look dirty; the fad will wear out.
The luxury model has a much better ride.
The F Sport ride becomes tiring; it's a short term ride, not for long term ownership...

There is a thread you can find in this forum that includes one of the early reviews of the F-Sport ... unfortunately, the review indicates that the ride is terrible. It sounds like ride quality it important to you. Therefore, you need to try out the F-Sport before considering it. An alternative approach is to order the sport grill on a regular RX ... it is something like an $1,100 options package.

I would definitely recommend you take the F-Sport for a test drive before purchasing it.

Most importantly make sure you can live with the 19" wheels,,,,MOST of the $1100 "Sport Appearance package" is the $770 optional 19's...the rest the grill!

It's my understanding that the wheels in the "Sport Appearance" package are not as dark as the regular "F Sport Wheels". I also would recommend you drive both first. I've read several road tests and they came down on the side of the regular RX 350 and not the F Sport. I don't like the black interior, would love to have the 8 speed tanny like I had on the LS460.

Picked up my F Sport this morning. I was a bit concerned about the ride quality based on what I was reading in the forum but was pleasantly surprised. The ride quality is certainly tighter and maybe a tad more bumpy than my non-sport 2010 but nothing more than I expected in a version that is supposed to be more sporty. I drove it just over 100 miles from the dealership home and it was actually fun to drive. I must say that I am accustomed to stiff suspensions as my other car is a 2010 Camaro SS and a Porsche 911 prior to that. Those are bumpy rides.

Please share with us your impressions of the 8 speed trans as you get some miiles on it.....; I am sure wondering if it won't be standard in the '14!

I certainly will. My first impression driving it home was how smooth the transmission feels. I will know more as I drive it and compare it to the 2010 RX which I still own.
