New 2013 RX
We are going to replace our 10 IS 250 with a 13 RX 350 on Friday.
Here's the deal:
New RX MSRP $49k
36mos
15k miles per yr
$3.7k due at signing, includes "free" first mo payment
Payment $489+tax
They are taking us out of the IS with 7 remaining payments due with no penalty etc. IS has 29k miles with new Bridgestones but shopping cart damage to one of the rear doors.
Essentially it's the new golden opp event offer, a $49k MSRP RX for the same terms except its for 15k miles vs 10k and this dealership is taking our IS off our hands with 7 payments still due.
Questions:
Good deal?
What should I look out for? I read something about Canadian built vs Japan, do US vehicles come from either country?
How do you guys like the 13?

and is were you able to get a Tier 1 Plus/ Tier 1 credit? ( i ALWAYS make sure on my lease)
what's included? with $49,000 as MSRP, i would guess it has at least navigation. anyway
i do ALL these:
1. Buy ( cars/SUVS that's less than 2 yrs and less than 20,000 miles)
2. Lease ( if it has a BMW badge)
3. Lease then eventually Buy that same vehicle. ( my previous Lexus GX 470)
at first, yours seem like a good deal.
BUT $3,700 due at signing? it's equivalent to you paying for the first month anyway.
typical LEASE will be $3,500 due at signing ( which included the first month)
and $449/month for 35 more months.
AND why not do 12,000 miles/yr instead.. you won't finish the whole 36 months anyway.

The car is a fwd fully loaded, we need 15k as my wife drives a long way for work each way. As mentioned the lease terms are part of the current Lexus golden opp lease. These are the best rates we've seen for the 13's so far. Keep in mind we are also turning in her 250 7 mos early.
Thanks

To me, it's having the HUD ( Heads up Display) and the ML ( Mark Levinson system)
again, i'll be more concerned on what Tier the dealer put you.
turning a lease early is a common Lexus practice.
THINK about it, you will have to pay again ( due at signing) and they'll be able to sell the car with less than 30k miles, which makes the Lexus more attractive to buyers.
everytime we lease with Lexus, on the 24th month ( of a 36 months lease), my dealer normally invites us to step into a Newer car.
sometimes we do, sometimes we don't.

We are tier 1 and I believe is a requirement for the golden opp lease special
The vehicle has every optional package.
We tried to turn in her IS late last year and get into a 13 RX at these rates and were not able to; now we can.
We like the RX especially the 13 with the sport app pkg but are not in luv with it but since she drives a lot I want her in a larger safer vehicle and the RX will work.
We'll see how things develop tomorrow evening as anything can happen.

i forgot to mention, you can return the IS 250 to any dealer and get the Rx 350 from them.
It seems like you haven't check with the other dealers in your area.
it's good to get the Best or at least a better deal

I hope it wasn't L----o. My folks bought their RX Hybrid last weekend at another dealer and before doing that, we did test drive a 350 that was built in Japan (J in the VIN). However, it only had minimal options and did not have NAV.

Sales guy said all rx's they get were now Canadian, we were not looking for a hybrid so I guess he meant all others?
From Wikipedia:
Manufacture of the RX has occurred at the Miyata plant in Miyawaka, Fukuoka, Japan since launch. The RX is the only Lexus model to be also built outside Japan, with North American market non-hybrid versions produced at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada plant in Cambridge, Ontario since 2003.[3] Hybrid models are built at the Kokura plant in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka since 2009.[4]

Cambridge began building all types of RX350"s including the fully loaded ultra prem with every option in 2012 (including Levinson, HUD and VDIM) and continue to do so for 2013. My 2010 was made in Japan, the metal on the rear doors flexed when i closed them--it just did not seem as well put together as my Canadian-built 2009 (which I still own). As well the 2010 arrived with those horrid, noisy, rough Dunflop tires. My 2013 Ultra Premium is being sourced from Cambridge. I have toured that plant -amazing to see, clean and very much concerned about quality...paint shop of course, was out of bounds for fear of contaminents. Lexus is so concerned about quality in Cambridge that visitors are sent a list of items ahead of time that they may wear and what they may not wear while on that tour.
