Show me your phone mount
I'm searching for a method to mount my smartphone in my 450h.
I've been leaning towards a proclip mount but haven't settled on which of the 3 hard mounts they offer. I don't really want a windshield mount.
So, if you have your phone mounted, snap a pic and share it please!

Phone Mount
Frankly, I just keep my phone in my purse. I never use the actual phone when driving and the hands-free with my RX picks it up just fine. Since I have a Nav system I don't use my phone for that. Sometimes, I leave it in my pocket.
In California, it is illegal to use your cell phone while driving and I don't have the ability to focus on Los Angeles driving AND do anything with my physical phone. Neither do most other drivers but they don't seem to realize that!
By the way, "Ooo I love my car!"

I agree with your statement about not using a cell phone while driving... I too have GPS in my RX (although don't use it much). I also have bluetooth connected so all my calls an music go through the RX as well.
My "issue" is using my phone as my media player, and the incompatibilities with the current bluetooth stack, I cannot get music info, song selection, playlist selection, FF/RW, etc. through the RX head unit. So I still must use the phone to do all my music selections aside from play and pause.
That's why I want a good mount that is within hands reach to easily make my selections, much like one would make selections on the standard head unit...

I don't have an iphone but I've used proclip on both my old Highlander and my 2012 RX for my GPS.
I chose the center vent mount because the left vent mount wouldn't allow me to have it plugged in for charging (something you probably don't have to worry about but I need it for traffic updates) and I was afraid the console mount would get knocked around by passengers. On the vent, I have it mounted all the way to the right.
Hope this helps.

I don't really have a mount for my phone I just think it a waste to even think about. I have my phone just in the cup holder slot or in the cabinet.

You're on the right track.
i use Pro clip. it's clean install. and no windshield mount.
the Disadvantage is you will have wires ( car chager) dangling.
so unless i have a full charge, i don't mount it.
here's an image on a Range Rover
here's a picture on an RX 350
console mount
left mount ( my choice)
center mount

my fellow forum members,
Ciege has a very specific concern.
that's why the "answer" is NOT as simple as..
1. frankly i just keep my phone in my purse.
2.Little compartment on the drivers door, right behind the window switches. Fits an iPhone perfectly!
3.the cupholder on the left of the steering wheel below the vent fits my iphone perfectly.

Heh, thanks for this, but people are posting their own experiences... I think the proclip mount is the method I will be going with. Now just have to justify the price!

If you don't want to spend that much on the proclip mount, get a kingston quick-release car mount. I was able to get it for $14 on sale on Amazon. It is a windshield mount, but it works perfectly.
EDIT: Added a picture of the mount.
