New RX Buyers
I am contemplating a new vehicle and want an SUV. My X5 is 12 years old and I totally love it but BMW still hasn't gotten them to the point that the MPG is acceptable in this day and age.
I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the RX? I like the car and am contemplating the new F-Sport. MPGs on web site seem to be at an acceptable level. Just looking for some owner feedback on the car. Thanks! [former ES300 owner]

All the opinions from others can't give you the information you need to decide on an RX or any other vehicle. The best advice is to reset the Avg. MPG display and take a comprehensive test drive, duplicating your typical driving pattern, if fuel economy is a high priority. Best of luck in making your decision and if it happens to be an RX, welcome to the forum.

Like MikeP said everybody has their own opinions and it all depends on what you want.
Coming from a BMW X5, you may like Lexus RX for it's extremely smooth & plush ride besides comfort and luxury. A couple of my friends who drive BMWs(X5 and 3 series) were blown away when they took my RX for a spin. They expressed their rejoice and mentioned to me that they actually felt that Lexus thing that they always heard from other Lexus owners. It made feel really good about my decision of buying an RX as I still remember them saying when I was in the market that the Lexus Brand is for women and oldies those that like a quiet ride unlike BMW which is a rugged and sporty drive. I gues they finally ate their own words. I wouldn't be surprised if they sell their BMWs and get an RX soon.
Before buying this car, I also considered Audi Q5 2.0 T which is little pricey. The others that I drove and did not like that much were BMW X5, Acura MDX & RDX.
I am a new Lexus owner(2013 RX 350) and it has only been a month so far but I already drove around 2K and will be putting another 1K over the weekend as I am going on a long drive . Last few fillups I have been getting around 21-22.4 on premium gas with about 70% highway and 30% local. I read on this forumns that after the engine break-in period the mileage increases slightly to 24-25...i'll let you know what I am getting in a month or so
Bottom line: I am very glad that I bough this car and am planning to keep it for a very long time
