this is for the old 201'0s that did not get recalled before;;;I am amazed at how they cut out my
new floormate near the gas pedal and locked it down in 2 places so it could almost NEVER interfere with the pedals!! I am glad Lexus is so responsive to potential problems!!

I find that really odd. My RX450h is from the very 1st month of production (May 09) and I can't see any way possible the mat could come off the hooks and trap the accelerator unless you just didn't put them back correctly.

I agree Jim. When I took mine out to vacuum last week, I actually found it a little challenging to get them off of those hooks.

In my 450h I have an all weather mat on top of the carpeted mat. I know it's not recommended but the mats are secure, probably more than if I only installed one. I did the same thing in my 330 and never had a problem.

I'll pass on this recall ... I don't see any problem with the current setup.

That would seem to be a little thick, but to each his own. I bought a set of the weather-tech mats and installed them. I put the carpeted mats in the utility room. I probably should sell them because I can't ever see me using them again.

I doubled up on the mats, too, but I did the opposite of Anita. I put the Lexus carpeted mats on top of the WT floorliner. So, I get the more complete protection of the WT, but the more plush look and feel of the carpet. to each his/her own.

...I did not like the original 2012 black mats that came with my 2012,,and bought Lloyds mats in grey (which I think look good) and they are great quality and plush..but they hooked on the anchors supplied with the RX. I use them in Spring and Summer, Weathertec in Fall and Winter....also grey ones

Weathertechs for me in all my cars and I don't see how the mats can come loose or cause problems.

Maybe I should clarify my earlier post, I also have the Weather Tech all weather mats. (I use the Weather Tech box to store my Lexus mats for that eventual day when it is time to replace the 450h)

Default 2010 RX 350 recall??

Yesterday I saw a news article about a recall for the 10 RX 350, It was a recall to correct a problem with the front drivers floormat which may interact with the gas pedal and cause sudden acceleration. I know on some Toyota Camry and Avalon models, this was a problem some time ago, but now the Lexus!! Has anyone else heard about this and what is it that they do to correct this problem. I know that previously they changed the gas pedal so it wouldn't come in contact with the floor mat. I have never had a problem with our RX, but who knows, it the mat is placed in the vehicle without being secured, it may move around and wheeeee, you're gone.
Cheers,
Jim
