What personalized settings are people changing on 2012 wit NAV

I've always stuck with the factory defaults. (Of the ones only Lexus service can change)
However, if there was one I would reconsider it would be the operation of the back door using the button on the door. By default the button does not power open the door.
You've seen the Ford(?) commercial where you wave your foot under the bumper and the back door opens? Easier if your arms are full of groceries. If you have the fob, the Lexus should respond to voice commands!

You get one time to have dealer changes made, generally by the 5K maintenance, but check with your dealer... If ou've not had changes mde yet, some will do it regardless of mileage (or at least that's what I've read).

One setting that I changed and is very helpful is the setting on the NAV system that allows the system to stay on whatever screen is displayed. So if you are on the Sat Radio screen, it will continue to display until you go to a new screen. In the default setup, the screen will revert to the GPS/NAV screen after a few seconds. If I want the GPS/NAV screen to display, I can just press the MAP button.

Also, just in case someone is reading this and does not know... If you have Nav, many of the changes can be made yourself. There are still some that only the dealer can do. Check Lexus.com "My Lexus" in the online manuals section for "Customization" ... a list is there of what can be changed and by who based on if you have Nav or not -- or at least it's there for the 2013 RX450h I checked on just now. TIS (techinfo.toyota.com) also has the complete current list of exactly what can be changed and by who for each model in the repair section under "Customize Parameters".

FYI to all you new members. There is great deal of information on this forum regarding the re-programming of the rear hatch to open via the button on the door. Just do a search. Many of our members, including me, have done this and in many cases it was a task just to get the dealer to do it because they did not know now it was done. It was only with the information I gained on this forum that I was able to get it done successfully.

Is there any way that you can set the nav to not discriminate letters while you are typing an address?
Can you have the US selected instead of picking a region to search in?
Thanks!
