Sorry to hear.
Last year my friend's brand new Maxima had all 4 wheels stolen right outside of his house.
May I ask which part of town?

Glad to hear that you were able to find a great price on the replacements.

That wouldn't be a bad idea.

The mirrors can be turned in toward the car. It should be able to lock into place like that and only be able to be released from the inside with the car on.

I have glass coverage on my RX that has a zero deductible and the side view mirrors are covered under that. You might want to check for next time, which hopefully there won't be. I have the power folding mirrors but I'm sure they can just pry them around, if they couldn't, they would probably snap the whole mirror off the RX.

Considered I pay 200 for the replacement I guess I'll live with it instead of getting insurance involved ! Plus I need to drive the car everyday , waiting for insurance tO come isn't really option to me !
Anyhow thanks guys

Bummer. At least it was a 'clean' steal and no other damage to the side view mirror housing or wires. That's great you found inexpensive replacements too. And I agree it's not worth an insurance claim. There were a few mirrors stolen a while back. Looks like they might be back at it again I recall stolen headlights were a problem on the 2nd gen. Lexus offered a retrofit. I had it done on my 330. Around the same time I saw an RX that fell victim. It was a pretty scary sight.

never seen a thief take such care to remove something....u would think a "thief" would have clipped the wires or pulled them out, not to mention no pry marks, no scratches. thats just odd

and if for nothing else than documentation i would have filed a police report.....
