Default How Can We Judge the Right Toyota Dealership for Service

I need help if I decide to have general maintenance done at a Toyota dealership, tire rotation, oil changes, and whatever is necessary every 5000 miles on my 2012 RX 350.

I would like to save to some $$$$ over a Lexus dealer, but how can I judge a good dealership to do right checks/adjustments?

Why are Lexus vehicles and Toyota so similar in service?

Is the 5000 mile service the same for both?

Both your 5,000 mile and 10,000 service are FREE, courtesy of Lexus. So take your car to the Lexus dealership and don't worry about it for a while. But, you might ask at the Lexus dealership if they have any specials or can give you a discount. I've seen this at mine.

The 5,000 mile service is basically a tire rotation.
The 10,000 mile service is basically an oil change and tire rotation.

Go to the service department and the Toyota dealership you are looking at and go back were the customer are waiting for their cars to be done and ask them what they thing of the dealer and how well they service their cars. Also, ask them whom they like to deal with as a service writer. If they are all pissed off then find another Toyota store to take care of your car. Make sure that the owner of the Toyota store does not own the Lexus store because they will not won’t to work on your Lexus but would love to send it to their high price service department at the Lexus store.
My Toyota dealer was easy to find (it was Toyota store that is closest to my house and my sister had her Camry serviced there for years¬).I started takening my 2005 Rx 330 there from 10k mile service until I sold the car. Bought a used 2000 Corolla for my Daughter while she was a junior in high school they took good care of it (still have it). I bought a 2010 Camry XLE from that store two years ago and they take very good care of it. Like the Camry XLE so much that two weeks later I bought a Camry LE for my Daughter from an out of state dealer and service works on it just like I had gotten the car from their dealership. Took my Rx450h there last week for its 15k service. $25 dollars while the Lexus dealer gave me a price of $350 with what sounded like a straight face

Billy, that may be where you live but not everywhere. Service business is a powerful source for them and no one wants to give it up. The Toyota store I use for Routine service and the Lexus store are both Nalley and in the same city. It isn't a problem for me.

Wow, that's interesting to me.

I think I'd tell the Toyota dealer next to Lexus I'm taking my business somewhere else and explain why...............

So how much is the upcharge at a Lexus dealer vs Toyota? Is it due to higher rates.....more hours allocated for the same service....higher parts prices?
