Be sure to check your tire pressure.. I trusted the dealer set it right but I just found all tires at 20 psi!

Your RX looks very good. We just got a white one with almost the same options (didn't get 19" rims). I like the front window tint to match the rears - what % did you go with? Did you also put a strip of tint across the top of the front windshield?

Not sure what the limits are, but I would have thought that would have triggered an error message.

I think the TPMS goes off around 27-28.

It would have guessed as well but nope. All tires were at 20psi.. no warning lights.

Does anyone know for sure, but the system is initialized at whatever pressure is in the tires when you push the initialization button and the alarm alert shows up anytime the pressure is 6 pounds below that pressure?

So if you tires were low and initialized at that low pressure of say 20psi, the alert would go off at 14psi?

Anyone know for sure? Does the alert come on with excessive pressure too?

It does not come on when they are over inflated. When I picked my RX up it had 45 psi in the tires and no warning light. Rode like hell. I dropped them to 30 psi and it is much better. Like Anita said, about 27-28 the warning light comes on. I have the nitrogen in my tires and I have never had to adjust the pressure.

You might want to try another gauge to be sure, I have 5 tire gauges and they all read different. The digital one I got works the best.

Sure, but first I checked the internet. From what I can tell, the differential is pre-set and or modified by the dealer and the system is initialized when the button is pressed at whatever the tire pressure is at the time the button is pressed for 3 seconds or longer.

So if the differential is set at 5 pounds and the system is initialized when the tire pressure is 35 PSI and a tire losses 6 PSI the alarm alert is activated. I'm guessing the initialized pressure is memorized by tire as each sensor has a unique code.

So if any of this is true, two problems can occur. First the differential could be set too large or too small. Too large, then a tire can loss too much pressure and too small, you'd get constant alerts as the temperature of the tire changes. Second, the TPMS could be initialized at the wrong pressure.

Of course I could be wrong again and perhaps Tuesday I'l let the air out of my tires and report back.

David, you're on to something. The manual says "When the tire pressure warning system is initialized, the current tire inflation pressure is set as the benchmark pressure." Now I have to throw this in. I had a low tire warning come on last year, not the TPMS light. The dealer put around 36-38 in the tires when I took delivery. I adjusted it to the correct pressure soon after. So let's say the TPMS was initialized at 36. I adjust them to 33 and they drop to 30. I get this warning but no TPMS. I now see in the manual there is a differential set during initialization to get this warning per the manual. There's really no indication when the TPMS light is supposed to kick on. It was around 27-28 on the 330. So bottom line, make sure the tire pressure is set correctly before initialization.

Thx to all for the kind words! Also great info about the air pressure, I need to check to see where all the tires preasure wise. So far she rides great but can't hurt to check.
