I don't think that comments about expecting a car in early 2014 are very accurate at this point in time (late 2014 would have more credibility anyway). For example, where is the updated ES that was expected six months ago. The CT was delayed for a very long time. What about the GS ... that is still not here ... it seems like it is arriving very, very late compared to everyone's expectations.

I hear there's NEVER going to be another up-date on the RX 350 for 20 years at best because the people at Lexus realized the 2012 RX 350 is next to perfect.

(besides I want to be in style for 20 Years)......LOL

Comestic updates are common to draw more buyers. Bmw does this all the time, and always at the end of production run. I see this with Lexus with the release of "___ edition". Which are basic updates like different wheels, bumpers, interiors. I'm sure the designers can do better than.

I think the picture of the new grill on that white 2012 GS looks pretty good, better than the ones I've been seeing of the silver one.

I agree, the 2012 RX350 is pretty close to perfect. However, have you driven a vehicle with a heated steering wheel? Veeerrryy nice feature to have. I test drove a 2012 Cadillac SRX on a cold evening with that heated steering wheel and along with the bun warmers on...nice. I bet Lexus will be out with that soon. I'll pass on that cattle-guard locomotive grill though.

See my previous post in this thread. The new GS has the heated steering wheel as part of the cold weather package (standard on GS450h)

Lexus designers will have to be very careful in their interpretation of the "spindle" grill when they apply it to the new RX. The new LX grill looks like a derivation of the Toyota Land Cruiser/4Runner/Highlander grill and it is UGLY! The RX is the best selling Lexus and they can't afford to mess up the redesign.

I'm betting it will be company wide and Gen IV will get a similar design. Maybe by then it will grow on me. I remember buying one of the last Gen 1 models (RX300) because my wife didn't like the larger size of the Gen II. Now I'm driving and loving the Gen III even bigger. Time will always tell.

I agree, Jim. Except when I first saw the RX300 in a magazine, I thought it was butt ugly. It definitely grew on me though. I called him hippo with his wide rotund rear end and side view mirrors that looked like little ears I didn't have a roof rack. It was a $500 option. Same with the tail.

I'm waiting to see the new GS in person. The new grill works IMO. The question is whether it'll work on the RX as well. Maybe in the right color like white or black? Who knows. We'll have to wait and find out.

I like the new grille on the GS, the milder version that is. When Lexus released the prototype I was in shock, it was ugly. Lexus did a good job of toning it down and refining it. With the RX hopefully it will be a little more toned down and more refined. Not liking it on the LX, that 'spindle' does not wear well on a big truck like vehicle. We might see the front end reworked on the RX for 2013, maybe more in line with the CT.

I would like a cooled steering wheel, heated is the last thing I need. Cold weather package is a great idea, that way only the areas of the country that need those features have to pay for them.

MEP, you would surely be outvoted on having a cooled steering wheel over a heated one. We already have a cold weather package, it's called AWD I know, yours is. Time to move north.

I can rock that LX570 all day long if I can afford it.

Lexus usually release the MY RX in Feb so we may see 2015 RX in Feb 2014. Also, 2013 and 2014 will have a slight cosmetic upgrades to get some sales. The 1Gen is 5 year cycle, 2Gen is 6 years cycles so if 3Gen is 5 years cycle (2015) or 6 years cycle (2016)......
