Headlight difference

Yes. This is the truck figuring out how much weight you have in the passenger+cargo compartment and then adjusting the headlights up or down so they don't blind oncoming drivers -- that is "ALS" in Lexus lingo vs. "AFS" that used move the headlights horizontally when you turned around corners and is no longer part of the 2013's.

Very good and helpful description of what each (ALS VS AFS) does/did. Thanks

Well, at least that cool feature is still on the RX, even though there's no more AFS. Whenever my nephew either rides in the car are drives it with me as the passenger at night, he always thinks it is so cool, almost like a space ship(LOL!)

AFS issues
Has anyone ever had to have the AFS headlights repaired or replaced?

See what in these videos looks like what you have
Then you can always use these to narrow it down and select replacements. HID bulbs look very different from the back and you will need to see the video to replace them. Never touch the bulb glass with bare skin as the skin oil will transfer, cause a hot spot and make the bulb burn out faster.

https://www.hidconcept.com/?gclid=Cj...hoClkIQAvD_BwE
At HID Concept click on lamp assemblies for the vehicle selection part
https://www.autozone.com/parts/elect...bs/lexus/rx350
The above sites have menus to identify the correct bulbs for your vehicle.
If you want further help from the forum, you need to identify the model year of your RX.

the video doesnt work.
xenondepot just offers led but doesnt tell me if i have halogen currently.
hidconcept wants me to pick if i have/want halogen or hid but doesnt tell me what i currently have
autozone offers 99% halogen and 1 hid. does that mean i have halogen?
i have a 2013 fwd

Go to www.youtube.com and search RX350 headlight bulb replacement. There are lots of videos. Pay attention to the views inside the engine compartment to see the difference between HID and Halogen. On HID your bulbs probably have self-leveling, so when you turn them on you can see the light rise up then settle down. It may also turn when you turn, but I think they removed that feature in 2013.
