This sounds like a good project. How easy is it swap out the backup lights? Do you have a link to the replacement LED's that you used?

Switching out the reverse lights is super simple. Open the tail gate and look for the rectangular shaped removable panels on the tail gate. Pop them out and you have access to the bulbs. I went with VLEDS. They're pretty bright.

I can't put on any type of license plate frames here, it's illegal. That includes the one from the dealer. But it's ok to have the EZ Pass transponder block half of the front license plate

For DRLs, I run 9005 7.5W leds that I bought on Ebay. No DRL module needed, no flickering, brighter than the 1210-68 LED lights.

Very impressed, I can see LEDs even during the daytime. The 68 LEDs that I had before were a joke, I can barely see them during the day. I love these 7.5w ones =)

My Daytime running lights are the high beams at half power so it makes it hard to put in HID's. I put in some PIAA Exteme white 60w bulbs that say they have the power of 120 watts. They are 4000K so they are a tad yellow. I would like something closer to 6000K but they do not make them.

I have the 9005 7.5w for my daytime running lights and they are very close to 6000k.
LEDs look more unique during the day as well, just my 2 cents =)

If you are interested, check the link I posted above. You can probably look at seller's other items and you should find them in 9005 bulb size.

I had the same reverse LED from Auto Design; I sent them back for refund as they are not all that bright. The primary reason is that they emit a narrow path of light straight ahead, like a small light output LED flashlight. Now, if there are multiple LED's all around the middle of the bulb, like the one that was posted below, these CREE 921 reverse lights would spectacular. Auto Design is good dealer as they sent me return label to return the bulbs.

Are you DRL also your high beams? In Canada it is the law to have DRL. I am not sure that the LED will have enough jam as the High Beams.

I don.t understand. The DRL and high beams are the same bulb in the 2011 RX without factory installed HIDs. I assume that it is the same for the 2010 and 2012. I am guessing that the DRLs just run on less power. That being the case, how can you use the 9005 7.5w without impacting the high beams?

I have a 2010 RX350 Touring package in Canada.

My 9005 DRLs are strictly DRL but nothing else. Since I have bi-xenons, my low beam xenon is for night time driving and high beams are xenons.

Hopes this clears up any confusion. I guess there are different headlamp configurations depending on the package you get.

It must be. I have the LED head lights for the low beams. They are projector style and the DRL are my high beams at half power. I dont think LED would be enough for high beams and although I can put HID in, you run into issues due to the lowered voltage for the DRL. What happens is the ballasts dont get the signal to turn on at 9volts everytime. Sometimes you have the left light, some times the right and sometimes both or none. I had the same issue in my envoy and had to have the DRL's turned off permanantly to make them work reliably.

Jairus, I have the LEDs too. I went with Litech superbright halogens for the the DRLS. They're slightly less yellow than OE, but definitely bright white as high beams. PIAA bulbs don't look good, I tried them. After my trouble with HID fogs, I'm staying away. I'll live with the Litechs for now.

Yeah the PIAA are a little yellow. I will chase down some Litech ones.

Anita, do the Litech super bright halogens have better lumens on the road as a high beam vs OEM highbeam? I'm planning of getting this if it's functional.
