Sorry to hear that! There are a lot of careless people out there!
With that, as much as I like the clean look, my OEM moldings will be installed soon! It's been pretty cold lately and I'm worried about the moldings not adhering properly. Per instructions, it's suppose to be 60F or warmer during install.
And dentless repair is pretty darn good now.. good luck!

I got my truck and parked it in my garage until I was able to put on the bodyside moldings and the clearbra. I was not taking any chances. It is also amazing how much excercise I now get when I park... at the far end of anything. LOL

Sorry to hear about your new car... it seems like the proportion of careless people are inversely related to how much you love your car.
While washing my car over the weekend, I saw a small chunk missing from one of my door molding - was painful to see. Whoever opened their door into my car did it with a lot of force... some people are just careless.
The molding saved my door - that chunk missing from them could have been from the door.

Sorry to hear what happened. Hopefully a paint-less dent repair can fix it. I had that done to a vehicle I had once and I could never tell it was repaired, looked awesome. Someone had pulled along side my Tundra and drug the side view mirror all the way down the side. Needless to say they were not there when I returned to the parking lot. No paint damage just a nice 12ft crease.
Someone backed in to the drivers door of my RX after 3 months. $2500 repair and I traded it off. So far not one ding on this one. KNOCK ON WOOD I get lots of exercise from parking way out.

It is amazing how all of these things happen. This has been a year like that for us. First my wife closed the garage door on the new RX ( 425 miles) and we had to have the front bumper cover repaired and repainted. Next. the RX was rear ended (approx 2000 miles) and the rear bumper cover was replaced and repainted. Finally while driving my car, a 2008 black Cadillac CTS, we come out of a store and find a shopping cart against the drivers door. Paint-less dent removal did the trick on that one. While I was extremely upset with each occurrence, I guess we have to adopt the attitude that it is just a car and it can be repaired. Of course, that is difficult if not impossible at the time.

When I had my GS I was at work, my car was parked in our enclosed parking structure with a parking attendant, and some how a moron rear ended my left side. There was no witnesses I had to pay $1600 dollars to fix it.

what i dont get is why repairs (in their totality) cost more than a new vehicle over time. $1,500 for a bumper, but the bumper accounts for maybe 3% of the car during manufacturing... dealers charge way too much for repairs

I too feel your pain. Although the car looks beautiful without the body side mouldings, I had them installed anyway for just this reason. It would be nice if people could respect the property of others, but, since they don't "arm" your vehicle with protection.

I hope the bodyshop can make it back to the original without costing you too much.
Some idiot keyed my lovely IS250 about 15" long and deep into the metal after 6 months owning it. I could not stand it neither and traded in finally.

Dings and dents are the reason why I have so much reservation buying a new vehicle, and when I buy a vehicle, the first thing I look to buy is a body side molding, followed by wheel well molding, and ways to cover a ding or dent when I ended up compromising and buying a vehicle with such nasty imperfections.

When I first got my brand new RX. Whenever I was out shopping. I would park my RX way out in the parking lot. No other cars or shopping carts.
The older the car gets. The closer to the doors it gets parked.
