Clicking noise sound when I apply brakes in reverse at low speed

He responded and found no TSBs, recalls, or safety concerns. However he will take a look at the next 8K km service appointment (next week) just in case...

41k on my RX450h 2010. Just started to make noises in reverse while braking. Took it in today, diagnostic mechanic said he has heard that in other RX but not RX450h. He thought actuator, but said they would flush brake lines first. They said that worked. On getting home it is still making noise.

My service rep checked it out at the 8K km servicing and found nothing wrong. In fact he said it was normal as there is a tiny shift in the motion of the pads when braking backwards. Ultimately, it is not a safety nor a performance concern so I'm ok with this.

Braking in reverse - clunk
Hi all,
I was wondering if any of you had this problem on your ride, clicking noise when you apply brakes in reverse? ( I had this problem as well on my previous toyota ) it's annoying that I have to hear this sound again. My car is 6 mo old and I just put 5000km so far on my ride , I guess i can let the dealer handle it ?

Clickity Clunk
It's a Toyota thing. I currently own three Toyota products and ironically I haven't noticed it on the RX, but the SC and the Vibe do it. Of course, if the RX starts making this noise, I will know that it's normal and all is as it should be.

Hy,
Still have noises on our two RX450h. We have european models. Few moth ago the dealer changes the brakes to the USA models. For a while the noise disappeared but now we have it again. The dealer said (i have an official document) that the sound is abnormal. But unfotunately, nothing happens, they can't do anything with it.

same issue with my 08 ES350. I have gone into the brake system twice looking for cause and couldn't find anything unusual. As an aside, I recently replaced front rotors and pads at 54K miles and haven't heard the noise since but this may be just a coincidence.
Related to front rotors/pads, I was having high speed (>70 mph) shudder and front rotors were the cause. Even at 54K miles (mostly highway) the pads were only about 50% worn but I put on new Akebono pads anyway.
