Evitzee, I can't help but think of how many private pilots forget to switch tanks I bet they wish they only had to worry about being stuck on the side of the road.

I don't wait for my RX to tell me to fill up. I rarely let it go below half a tank.

Just a thought, but people buy a hybrid to get better mileage, no? Than why would you want to carry around a lot of extra deadweight (fuel) which cuts down on mileage? At six pounds per gallon you are carrying about 115 lbs of fuel with a full tank. Some people like to hypermile so it defeats the purpose, and couple that with tires that people usually let go below optimum inflation level and it may show up in real world driving, not a lot but it is there. Just to something to think about, and to mess up your mind.

Better mileage is only one reason to go hybrid. I have already cut my trips to the gas station in half. Now it's every two weeks I like to have a full tank especially now that the weather has turned colder. That extra weight can come in handy
