For what it's worth, after the Toyota dealer did my 30k I went online to the Lexus service history page and filled it out (you can do this) to register the service. It asks for what was done and the repair order # and who (dealer and address) did it. Then I checked it and it shows up as done.
When I purchased my Lexus, I traded a 7+ year old Toyota Sienna with 249,000 km for it. As part of determining what they'd give me for it, the used car sales manager pulled the service history of the vehicle. He was astonished to see that every single factory specified service had been performed by the selling dealery - said he'd never seen anything like it. That, and the condition of the vehicle got me more than I was expecting in trade. So, there can be a benefit to having the dealer perform all service...

Our 2011 RX350 had the first two free services done at the dealer. I'm 72 and never paid for a service in my life and I don't plan on starting now. I will take it in for warranty work if required. My first oil and filter change will be done in about four months.

Oil & filter, ATF, antifreeze, tire rotation: Myself.
I've sold 2 cars ( each around 100K miles) to private buyers. I never traded in a car yet.
The buyers all asked if the timing belt was replaced or if the brake pads/shoes were replaced.
When I showed them the TB and brakes invoices, there was no more questions about maintenance.
None ever asked me to show service records (which I also kept at the ready).

To show records that your RX has been serviced completely by Lexus at the time of sale, (either private or trade), is a lot of money already spent on service up front.
The total $$$$ spent on service has to be recouped at the time of resale, which would make the value of the vehicular bring in more money.
Now, the only thing left is try to convince a dealer or buyer how important in dollars that was.
It still rubs me the wrong way when paying $150.00 for a oil/filter change when you can do it yourself at a fraction of the cost.

I have already bought batteries for our remotes and I can easily buy new wiper blades. The rest of the checks and inspections will be done by the Toyota service mechanics.
OH yes, they also rotate the tires too.
