smartphone Remote Starters RX350 3rd Gen
has anyone with a 2010 or 11 RX350 tried any of the smartphone remote starters? i have the OEM remote but as we all know that is the worst excuse for a remote starter. I would like something that works from more than 25 feet away. anyone done a Viper or similar brand in this situation? I am in New Engalnd and the winter is coming......

If you are closed to Dorchester, Stop by Car Alarm Systems in Dor Ave. When I asked for smartphone remote starter with mine, they guaranteed it will work wherever you have 3G(4G) or Wifi signals, but the subscription will be about 50 bucks/month. I had 2 cars installed there, great service.

Had the Viper Smart Start installed in my wife's Maxima and my RX450h. At the time, Viper's cell service was unreliable and the installer cobbled up the installation in the RX so I had them remove it from the RX. Viper has improved their infrastructure and also their tech and customer service (grew too fast and service was terrible).
In all things of this nature, the installer is the key. Many things must work together: locks, security system, starter, etc.. Getting those working together takes some talent and good tech support from the manufacturer.
Visit the Facebook page of any vendor you're interested in and read the comments and complaints before making the purchase.

I have been looking into these this week and am honing in on the Drone Mobile. In Canada it is $60/year for service or $120/year for GPS and a bunch of others things. They also supply one year free.
if you are going to do this you can get a lower end 2way Compustar Pro starter to mate it will.
The deluxe everything here is about a grand complete installed with all the needed stuff to make door locks, alarm, hatch etc work.
One thing you should be aware of is that all aftermarket starters will start car but turn it off when the door handle is opened. This is due to the fact it has pushbutton start. In theory someone could come up to the car and get in and drive away otherwise.
