Yes, the chrome frames are about 6-7 lbs each. It's straining the front mounting bracket. Maybe I'll gain a few MPGs when I take them off, LOL!

The new frames are slightly larger but it's not that bad. It'll probably look better when the plates are on. I was thinking of maybe adding a little chrome to bling it up a little. The rear frame reminds me of those car commercials where the plate totally blends into the car.

Funny MEP. You're just jealous you only have one plate

I know, LOL! I think we should make a pact so when I see something nice, you can talk me out of buying it and vice versa

From the web site , it looks like you have to get the front and the back as a kit?

I only need the rear - maybe someone would want to split the sale with me?

I have the starfire pearl color.

Let me know if any interest?

Tried to order the other day, unfortunately, the costs has gone up to 20%. Since I just bought my regular chrome Lexus frames, I guess I'll have to pass on these.

Bummer. If it's any consolation, I bought the mud guards when they were $200+. Now I can buy four sets for that price

I hope to get the new frames on soon. It'll be tricky cutting new holes to match up with the existing ones in the bumper so they sit the right way.

Here are some pictures of the front frame mounted using the same holes for the bracket. I still have to drill the front and back frames so I can attach the plates. It's a work in slow progress

Looking good with the matching colors. I'm just glad we don't have to have a front plate on ours.

Front looks good. I'm in PA, so don't need one, but we may move to NJ, so I may have to go this route.

Kitlz,

Really nice pictures and good install. I actually have a brand new JDM Lexus license plate frames for IS that I bought some time ago when I visited the Lexus dealership in Tokyo area. But then I found out I need to drill the holes and so I gave it up. They are unused in the box.

I am about to put it to sale but your pictures make me ponder again. :P

For the price you paid, it is not too bad. The MSRP in Japan for your RX frame is 18900 yens which comes to US$246.

Andy, I feel your pain. I had, and still have, doubts that I can get the frames to work. The drilling part scares the bejeezus out of me considering how expensive they are. But I've waited too long to give up so quickly. The frames look cool. I'm sure yours do too. Good luck

Thanks! I am glad to catch your nice pictures of the frame. You know, if you look at the pictures of the Lexus owners in Japan, you will notice quite a lot of people have this frames on and with all the cool light mods, the frames do make the car look good.

Just wonder.. did you just lay the frames on some sort of table and and with some homework on the measurement, use a normal drill to create the holes, one at a time?

The JDM Lexus Plate frame look great!!

Due to the currency exchange rate and the increase of MSRP from Lexus JP.

You got a great deal on this plates. ;P
