Man, cornering is pretty smooth on ours but I do agree that on rough roads, the ride isn't as smooth as I expect, but we have the bridgestone.

I'm pretty sure most of the complaints re: harsh ride with Michelin's are the standard 18" rims. I have the 19" and don't consider the ride harsh or noisy at all. They handle very well and are quite. At the 25k service and rotation the tread wear guides estimated that I'd get between 35-40k in miles before I had to replace them.

I keep my cold temps at 32 and they warm up to 35 on the highway. They do get a rotation every 5k and I think that's key to long wear.

I dont think Lexus will move any closer to the stiffer suspension than they already have. They will keep the key models (RX, ES, LS) as soft as possible while still keeping up with the competition, but they will then cater the IS and GS with F models to the sporting people

yeah, at the end of the day, the founding values of Lexus is a smooth ride, and I dont think they will alienate the (aging) buyers they have. I think the ES will remain smooth

I've driven my brothers RX450h on numerous occasions, and I still think it's one of the smoothest riding SUV's. The suspension isn't stiff compared to a BMW.

Lexus is known to create comfortable cars, so I highly doubt they will use/make stiffer suspension.

I'm not up there in age (yet) but I know a lot of my friends my age like smooth rides.

I'm all for smooth ride with good handling. I think the RX has a great balance. After all where can you go anymore to really take advantage of speed and handling on a regular basis. I'm 54 and for me it's all about comfort, that's why I bought a Lexus.

To those who think that the RX's handling is sloppy, it would be good that they can elaborate on that.

From me, the handling is really good, it doesn't over steer easily and holds really good in fast cornering on normal driving, again, I'm an agressive driver.

Tire pressure does nothing....I have lowered pressure in the past to 28 psi and it does nothing.......
The problem I believe is that car makers like Lexus and many others are making stiff suspensions because the car testers and writers like a stiff ride.....if it's a softer suspension they criticiize the way it rides.....never mind that so many of us like a softer ride......that, I believe is what is going on.....

I put about 100 miles today on the Yokohama Parada X tires on my FWD RX and I must say the ride has changed for the better about 70%. It's smoother, less bouncy, quieter and riding over bumps it's not as harsh. I'm quite surprised over the difference from the stock Michelins which only had 18,000 miles on them. If your looking to improve your ride I highly suggest getting the Parada X.

Thanks for the review on the Paradas. Please update us as you put on more miles on them. They're on the short list to replace the Dunlops on my 450h, probably later this year.

I agree, for some reason these car guys think we should all be driving sport cars. I miss the days of my big floating T-bird and LTD. Yes, they didn't handle all that well but I was comfy. I am glad the steering and handling has improved but there is a point where enough is enough.

I currently have the Michelin's and was thinking about the Paradas. Interesting to see some one who had the Michelin's and switched to the Paradas noticed a difference. Waiting for more feedback on that situation.
My RX is a little over 1 year old and I have 7.5K on it, I guess it will be awhile before I can get new tires, they may dry rot first.
