I just saw your request. I am glad you got it all installed OK. I put one ballast on the passenger side firewall and the other on the support frame by the right wheel. Where did you mount yours and how do you like the result?

^I'll take a pic of it when I can this week, hopefully it'll help others too. The pasenger side was easy on the wiring, the driver's side, well, they're all cramped in there. LOL.

Hello everyone, I am a newbie to this forum. After seeing pictures of the Xtreme HID kit posted by JiniJazz , I would like to upgrade my ugly halogen lamp to the Xtreme HID kit. Can someone please post some pictures of the installation.

cafpaf and happy1977,

Which Xtreme HID kit did you end up buying? I am debating between the Xtreme kit with XenonDepot HID Bulbs and the xtreme kit with Philips HID Bulbs which cost $65 more. If you purchased the kit with XenonDepot HID Bulbs, does it look nice? Thanks in advance.

brklynrx02, I purchased the kit for XenonDepot. It is absolutely great. I was quite concerned about the installation but it was a snap and it looks great!!! Steve at XenonDepot answered all my questions and the ordering process was easy. The product arrived in about a week and it only took about 40 minutes to install. Finding a place to secure the ballast is the hard part. On mine, the passenger side is against the fire wall and the driver's side is on a bracket next to the wheel. Once you are in there it will all become clear. I got the extreme kit with the Extreme Kit. Just give Steve a call and he will guide you and you can't go wrong.

I also went with the Extreme HID Kit without the Philips HID bulbs. I let an installer do it for me since the hybrid engine makes for a tight squeeze. He had to access the fog lights from underneath. It wasn't difficult but I felt better leaving it to a professional. Steve is extremely helpful if you have any questions with the product or installation. I'm sure he'll jump on here soon.

Thanks for your kind words guys! brklynrx02: You won't go wrong with either of the Xtreme HID kits. Philips bulbs will be slightly brighter than the standard Xtreme bulbs and will have a slightly quicker warm up period.

I went with the Xtreme 4300K Philips HID Kit for my fogs. I'm VERY satisfied with it. No problems so far through the winter and they are super bright. The hard part of installation didn't have anything to do with the product, it was more of finding a good place to mount the ballasts securely. I went with 4300K so that it matched the stock color better but if you want that brisk white color you might want to temperature up to 5000K.

Thanks everybody for the advice. This forum is great. I think i am ready for the upgrade.
Steve,
Do you have any pictures of the 4300k and 5000k? I would like to see the difference between the two. I prefer a more white look than yellowish. Thanks again.

brklynrx02,

There is not a "huge" difference between the 4300k and 5000k Xtreme HID KIt. Here is a picture showing 4k and 5k:

**It's truly hard to capture the true colour of HIDs but you can see that 5000k will have a slightly crisper output.
Honestly... I would go with 4300k for the brightest, whitest, and most OEM functionality. There is no functional benefit in going with a higher colour temperature. Your vehicle has projector headlights for the low beams so you would most likely get the colour you are looking for with a 4300k HID kit.

You will lose lumens (light output) if you go higher in kelvin. 4300K will have more lumens vs the 5000K, functionally, you'll benefit from the phillips 4300K.

I went with 5000K for a better match with the LEDs. They had a clean bright white light with no signs of yellow. I didn't feel like the output was compromised.

Default Philips Genuine Products

Here's a link on how to verify your HID product.

I haven't tried it yet.

I have the factory HID headlights and wondering if there is a decent 9005 halogen high-beam upgrade for the high beams?

Also, does anyone have any experience with the WeatherTech Aero side window vent/deflectors? I am wondering about how well they install and if the increase in wind noise on the RX350 is objectionable?

2011RX350, I went with Litech super whites for the DRLs. They're unbelievably bright as high beams. And they're cheap, around $15.

I have the JDM visors. WeatherTeach didn't have the rear visors available when I got my RX. I've had them on my previous RXs. Installation is very easy. They didn't increase noise except for maybe when the windows were opened slightly below the visors. It's probably comparable to when the windows are slightly opened without visors.

The JDM visors are low profile and blend in nicely with the RX. I don't have any problem with noise. The only problem is they are pricey.
