Question I know I'm Not The Only Owner Having This Problem :(

I am hoping by posting this question that I am not the only owner having this issue on my RX. I have a 2010 RX450H with beige interior and a scuffed up interior door panel. The scuffs are black from the dress shoes I wear to work 5 days a week. I wonder why Lexus made that particular plastic piece beige knowing that it would be in constant contact with shoes as people enter and exit the vehicle. I have noticed small scuffs as well on the plastic piece surrounding the metal Lexus logo.

I have tried the following items UNSUCCESSFULLY:

-Windex
-Invisible Glass
-APC
-Magic Eraser
-SOS Pads

What items have the owners here tried to get rid of the ugly scuff marks??

hmm usually magic eraser is the way to go.

If im not mistaken, dress shoe marks are usually removed by rubbing them (heat and contact) like an eraser does with pencil marks. thats how you remove them on hardwood floors. Using that logic...

On a side note, you have to be extra careful as you are exiting. I know from experience that Lexus door panels (no matter what color) are very easily scratched.

Seeing a few scuff marks in the 450h with parchment interior I test drove convinced me to stick with black. I think part of the problem may have to do with the higher door sill the RX has this time around. At an RX preview event, one of the Lexus people actually said it would prevent skirts from getting dirty. Hah! Makes it easier to mark up stuff up now climbing in and out instead. I'm sure there's something out there that will get the scuffs off.

As for the scratches, everything shows no matter what color like RXSF said. I am looking into possibly covering the door pocket with another material once I see the guy I know who does boat and car interiors. It's so tempting to have him change the headliner to suede. I digress I was at the dealer Saturday. Their body shop person overheard me asking about repairing a scratch. Damn watch. It turns out he has something for it. I'll let you know if it works once I get my hands on it. If it does, it will be worth its weight in gold!

this is random but on my C class, the door panel is very cleverly designed.

everything under the armrest except the speaker is covered in black fabric liner. This way, when you kick it, it makes a small scuff mark but a wet rag will get rid of it. Im sure all Mercedes are designed this way and it really does make a huge difference after years of getting in and out

Interesting. I had a 2010 Mercedes GL550 before getting my RX and the fabric liner is the only thing good about a Benz. Three owned and counting with numerous problems. No offense, but the word Mercedes makes me cringe. I think the trick to the whole thing is wear tennis shoes FTW.

while you wont get black marks on your beige doors, you will still get scuff marks and that are lighter shade of beige. There is no way around it.

If you are talking about the plastic pieces, you can use Turtle Wax-ICE-liquid polish. I've used it on doors, worked great.
