Default Heated seats auto off?

My seat was heated for about an hour this morning on the highest setting (3). It stopped heating, but the green light was still on. I don't have my manual handy, but is there an auto pause of sorts to prevent overheating?

i glanced at the on-line manual, but what I found just indicated the "don'ts", no sharp objects, no blankets, no young children, etc.

I would think there would be what might be called a "high limit" or "cutout" to prevent overheating. It would interrupt the power to the heating element if it started to overheat.

Perhaps someone else on the list knows.

The heated seats haven't cut off on me yet. I have the bun warmers on pretty much all the time between October to sometimes April.

my other car has a Hi and Lo setting, if you put it on Hi it will turn off automatically once it reaches a certain temp, on Lo setting the temp is mild or low but constant. So I'm thinking the same thing on rx.

--In the HI setting, the heater turns off when the seat gets warm, and turns back on after the seat’s temperature drops.
In LO, the heater does not cycle with temperature change.
Follow these precautions when using the seat heaters:
Use the HI setting only to heat the seats quickly, because it draws large amounts of current from the battery.
If the engine is left idling for an extended period, do not use the seat heaters, even on the LO setting. It can weaken the battery, causing hard starting.--

sorry this is from the honda odyssey I'm still searching for the RX

According to the factory service manual for the 2G RX, there is a themostat for the seat heater that cuts off at a temperature above 115 degrees F.

Default TOO Warm!

I find that I can only stand the seat warmer for about five minutes before having to turn it off, because it gets TOO warm!
