So I've filled up my 2011 RX350 about 3 times and I've been averaging 17MPG. Not what I was expecting from this SUV. I've had it for about a month now. We love it, but the gas mileage is about the same as my Audi Q7 that I want to get rid of. Hopefully it'll get better. The RX has 36K miles on the clock, still fairly new! Audi, 100K miles

something is not right. my 2015 with just over 4,000 miles is getting over 19mpg`s. does yours require premium fuel or something?

2014 RX350 - MPG update at 1 year old.
Minimum 20.1 (100% city), Maximum 28.3 (100% Highway), Average 24.0 MPG (50/50 mix)
Last four tanks were at 25 MPG, measured, 50% highway using 87 octane E10 gas.
It will be interesting to see what effect winter blend fuel will have on my fuel economy. Only a couple months until that dreaded weather arrives.

Completed a 2 day 1200 mile trip from Central FL to Chicago yesterday on the wife's brand new 2015 RX350 FWD (less than 300 miles on the clock at start of the trip), and the mileage increased every tank along the way. The last tank of regular averaged 25.6 mpg. I set the cruise at 76-77 in 70mph zones and 73-74 in the 65mph zones. We never got that high of mpg with her 2011 RX350. The most we got on long interstate trips with the old one in 40k miles we owned it was 22-23 mpg, with virtually the same spec model.

Did it say anything in your owner's manual about not using the cruise for long periods of time during the break-in period? I've seen this in Toyota manuals. Just wondering if the same is true for Lexus. Apparently the boys at Toyota want the engines broken in at varying rpms as opposed to a constant rpm for a long time.

Yea and we look at every gas sign for the best price.....we watch our pennies and waste the money on a Lexus when a much smaller car will get you to the same place. Save your money and let you kids drive the Lexus or maybe BMW......I got a boat that gets 2.5 miles per gallon....Talk about waste of money .I'm happy with my Lexus miles.....As someone said you can drive very slow and save more money but we must remember the one thing that all have the same amount of is TIME. No one gets more than 24 hrs a day. Enjoy it.... Drive 100MPH and save more time.....the state guys may take your money but look you saved time. Just tell the trooper your saving time....instead of money....I'm sure he'll forgive you.....Wait I just got my gasoline bill....maybe I should think about walking or riding a bike more.....let see if I walk 20 miles I'll save about $3.50.....and it will take me about 5 or 6 hrs.....time vs money ratio not to good.....better ride.....see you all on the interstate.....plates DRBEE toot when you go by......oh yea I'm paying extra for those plates.....about 4 gallons of gas.....only money....

The AMEX Blue Cash card gets me 3% cash rebate on gas & groceries, 6% in department stores and 1% on everything else. And I just got a new Sam's Club Mastercard that gets me a 5% rebate on gas, 3% on travel and dining and 1% on everything else.
BTW, I pay my cards off by Wed each week to keep my credit score over 800 to get the best loans out there.

2015 RX 350 F Sport MPG
I have about 700 miles and for some reason we cant get it above 15mpg average. My wife drives it mostly. I know its all wheel drive but really? We drive it like old people to see if we can raise it but it just wont go any higher. One time we got ti to 15.5 but then came righ back down. anybody having same issue.

Things you can try:
Refuel to reset the current MPG ave and drive on the highway at 60 MPH on level ground. You should average about 25-26 MPGs.
After your testing, if you still have poor mpgs, change gas station/brand. You never know you could have (rarely) had bad fuel. Next, try premium fuel and check your mileage. Any change? If your attempts still produce poor results, bring it in the Lexus to have it checked out. It could very well be the engine is breaking in and after your first oil change, it can improve.
Good luck.
