Default Gifts from dealer/sales associate??

In recent years, we have bought 3 Mercedes from 2 different dealers and everytime, the dealer/sales associate would give us some small gifts after the deal is done..usualy a keychain or a coffee mug..

I am just wondering, does Lexus dealer/sales associate hand out gifts when you guys pickup your new cars??

In the past I have received touch up paint and a key chain in one of the little Lexus bags. This year it was one of their insulated bags with a key chain. But I prefer the discounts and freebies they give me when I bring my RX in for service much more.

I was surprised to get a gift basket containing chocolates, two keychains, Texas hot sauce, caramel corn, and a sweet bottle of wine.

What do you get when you take your car in for service?

I received a big tin of assorted cookies a few days after I picked up my car. They were really good. Nice surprise. My dealership has been top notch and offers a lot of extras. It is sad to read about others' bad experiences.

Happy Lexus Owner

I received a thermal mug, a t-shirt, and 2 key chains when I bought my RX in 04

Two years ago when I bought my C350, I asked them to bypass those small goodies and asked for a set of all weather floor mats, haha 100 dollar value.

I work at a Toyota dealer and some of our salesmen will buy customers a keychain or "OU" logo. It is pretty amazing how a $5 gift can really make people feel better about spending thousands of dollars.

In the past we've received an insulated bag, mugs and keychain '98, computer bag and 2 mugs '05, keychains, wine bag, 2 mugs '07, and nothing in '10. Could it be that it was a different sales person, or the dealership is saving $?

Didn't get any yet, I don't know maybe on my first service but they put me on a VIP program to get free car washes, free wiper blades, touch up paint, tire repair, taillight bulbs and key batteries. I wonder if all lexus dealers do this.
