looking for replacement mirror (just the glass)
2010 RX350
My wife hit a buzzard on the way home tonight. She said it bounced off of the passenger side mirror. Everything on it still works (lights, camera, movement), but the glass part of it was shattered. It's auto dimming/ heated (I believe).
Can anyone steer me to a good deal on just the replacement glass? Online or local to the Raleigh, NC area? It appears that it's nothing more than a plug and play component (3 wires and a few clips/ snaps). If we don't have to pay through the nose to get it from the dealership, I'd prefer not to. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your incident...I had something similar on 08 Toyota Sienna Limited, and I hate to tell you that it is a FULL unit replacement and it did cost $475 discounted from $535.00 Does units have a black oil inside which is what provides the auto dimming and in my case it spillled on the door and stained the paint, but curiously the stain lasted 2 days only and then dissapear...oh well good luck.

Yeah, it had some sort of oil/ gel in it that got on the paint, but it wiped right off. The goo was clear though.
I'm really hoping you're wrong about it being a full unit replacement though. But, if it is, we'll just turn it in to insurance and pay the $250 deductible. It'd sure be a lot easier and cheaper to replace the glass though (at least it appears that it would).

That's the kind of part that, these days, that often only be replaced with the whole unit. Just finding the mirrored glass will be impossible, unless you want to scavenge salvage lots and do the work yourself, which will take many hours of your time.

WOW! Don't break the side view mirror(s) on your RX! For just the glass part, it was $382! Then labor to install it was another $59!
For the entire assembly, I think my wife told me the dealership quoted her something like $1,300... Thank goodness the whole thing didn't need replacing! And thank goodness for good insurance!
