New RX engine choice coming?
Im sorry if this is a repost, but i've come across this:
source: http://auto.sohu.com/20100601/n272483220.shtml
If this is true, would it be the new 2.7L I-4 engine in the new 4runner?
specs on that is:
157hp @ 5200 rpm/178 lb-ft. @ 3800 rpm
18/23/20 (city/highway/combined)
but the 3.5L v6 on the rx350 is:
275hp @ 6,2000 rpm/257 lb-ft @ 4,700 rpm
18/25/21 (city/highway/combined)
FWD model*
wouldn't make sense :x

oh my bad :x
new news to me.
the 2.7 I-4 performs better in the venza. interesting.
182 hp @ 5800 rpm, 182 lb.-ft. @ 4200 rpm
21/29 (city/highway)
FWD*
that mpg would make more sense.

I guess they could aim for a more fuel efficient version (than the v6) but without the hybrid premium, but nothing less than the Rx it is :]

Before I got my RX350, I asked them about RX270 n they assured me that it won't be available here in Indonesia....
I think even if it really produced worldwide... it will be available through parallel importer to replaced the out-dated model of best selling Toyota harrier here (Lexus RX with 2.4 litre engine)..

True, 4 cylinder versions of the RX series/Toyota Harrier have existed for years in other parts of the world, first in a 2.2 L and then in a 2.4, so I'm not surprised by this.

till now parallel importer still selling the 2nd gen model here.. n the sales still going strong... coz it consider cheap here in Indonensia... Almost half the price of 3rd gen RX350... Furthermore, the Harrier name will be discontinue...So there will be no more replacement for current Toyota Harrier as Japan has officially establish "Lexus" Brand there... Even if they bring in the RX270.. It will be badge as Lexus as well....
