loose passenger seat
My passenger seat and almost all the rx I've looked at have loose passenger seats. Not loosly bolt to the floor but loose in the tracks. There is enough play between the seat and seat tracks that it can rattle. Just a small bump against the seat back and the rattle is there. Dealership took my seat apart and retorqued all the hardware but the seat still rattles. We looked at other rx's and its the same so they didn't make any further attemp to correct it.
This rattle and the tonneau cover are starting to lower my expectations of lexus qualtiy. Not to mention all the otther issues I've had.

the tonneau cover has always rattled since the first RX in 1998. I dont think there is a way to prevent that since you have the various straps and the cover itself. The first thing I did with both of my RXs is remove the cover
as for the seat tracks...that is very weird.

after seeing this post, I went out to my 450h (Japan built) and tried to 'jiggle" the passenger seat. Nothing - it's tight. Con't know why yours should have any play in it. Keep bugging the dealer to fix it, you shouldn't be having rattles.

My dealer fixed the passenger seat after applying some buffer materials and lubrication btwn track and seat... at least, I don't hear the noise or feel the loose seat now. Let's see how long this solution will last.
