Any newer owners of the RX have any new comments on the quality of their RXs? In particular rattles and interior noises.

Sad to say. Still like the car but hate the rattles. Seems like new ones every week.

I've had mine for 2 weeks. Unlike my 400h this one has been quiet. Even the cargo cover is quiet! Everything is fine except the trial of the XM traffic won't work. They've resent data many times but so far no luck. There are many qualities I love about this car and its my 3rd RX.

No rattles in mine.No issues at all so far in 5 months for me.I do have low mileage, though.
Late 3/10 build.
It seems the early build RX's have had more issues.I believe the '10 RX is out since 3/09.

Our RX has been great. Canadian build 01.10, 6k miles. No rattles, everything's sturdy and fits tight. Another fine product from Lexus

April, 2010 - Canadian-built.

No issues with build quality. The navi/audio system design and functionality is a bit disappointing, though.

I'm waiting to see what the 2011 RX 450h options are for here in Canada. I'm starting to get the itch to get a new car even though my IS 350 is really low mileage. I'm thinking of either the RX 450h, or a new IS 350 AWD. I really hate rattles and would like to know if Lexus has solved most of the first year rattle issues with the RX.

I've had my 2010 RX since July 21st . I'm enjoying everything on the 2010 RX with a few minor things to mention. First of all, I think the car is even more quiet on the inside than my '07 RX was. I'm loving the convenience of the passive entry/touching the door to unlock the car, no fumbling for the keys. I'm also enjoying the hands-free bluetooth capabilities and I've had no problems with hooking up my iPod through the USB hook up. Actually, I was surprised by the nice sound quality of the iPod. Other than removing the tonneau cover, I've had no squeaks or rattles. My '07 did have some of those.

A few dislikes: When I pull into a parking spot and the steering wheel is completely upside down even though I feel I'm in a straight position. That kind of drives me crazy! Is this because of the 19 inch wheels? My '07 with the 18 inchers didn't do that. The sound of the front doors when I close them is not as nice or solid sounding as in the '07. Last but not least is the gas mileage. The 2010 is not getting the nice gas mileage that my '07 was getting. Oh, also, I don't know if anyone is experiencing this, but when I put the car in reverse, my brakes make a weird creaking, groaning noise. This also happens if I'm sitting at a stop light and when I take off when the light changes the brakes make that weird noise. In the '07 RX, I would only hear that weird noise after the car was washed and I guess the brakes and the brake pads were wet. But this is happening all the time on the 2010, so I'm definitely going to take it in to have it checked.

Overall, the RX is still a great value in the Luxury Crossover SUV segment!

^^ regarding the brake noise, try stepping harder on the brake when changing gears and see if it makes a difference. The noise is coming from the brakes because the engine wants to go forward or backward but the brakes are on the cusp between full stop or no stop.

sorry to revive this thread, but reading these comments, i was wondering, does the early build matter if you are going to have problems with the car and which plant it was build?? need some light on this, when the production build and when to buy and what not.

If problems occur, what should i look at... I hope im making sense with the post.

And since i have an 08, in the next couple of years, im seriously look for the newer rx's to buy :-)

Default After Two Years...

Here's an update, after two full years of ownership.

Very satisfied with initial build quality. No problems.

One small annoyance - I reported a "creaking" sound around the rear doors to the service advisor at a routine service. This happened when driving over a bump. They solved it by lubricating the weather seals around the doors. The body flexes slightly when encountering a bump, and dry weather seals didn't slide easily in response, but rather "let go" abruptly, causing a "creak".
