Default Installing a remote starter

My 2010 RX350 did not come with the remote start option. Can the OEM remote starter be added afterwards? Are there any third party remote starters available?

Thanks!

Yes, an OEM RS can be added after. That's what my dealer was going to do for me, but the car he got in for me already had it.
I don't know this for certain, but I'm will to bet that there are 3rd party RS. Just make sure you get it done by a GOOD installer, not by some kid at a Best Buy. The differences in quality install are night and day! Also, "MAYBE" a 3rd party unit can get around the annoying Lexus RS feature that shuts the car off as soon as you touch the handle???? I don't know, but it's worth asking.

I've looked around and couldn't find a 3rd party remote starter I think that the car is too new and they don't know how to support it yet...

I was told that the factory remote starter option was not available in Canada, but there is an after market remote starter they can install at a cost of $700. The cost is on the high side because of the keyless entry and keyless starter system the vehicle has.

I've attached the installation manual for the OEM remote starter. It's only 24 pages long! It sells for about $190 online or $290 from the dealer.

Well: Consider yourself lucky, sort of. The OEM RS is junk, IMO, as it only works from a few feet away and (as stated in earlier post) the automatic shut off feature is annoying as H. What good is a RS when you are standing next to the car. Wasted $$ IMO.

Just about any third party system will work fine. I would stick with either a Directed Electronics System like Viper or Clifford or ones made by CompuStar. The key to make them work is the immobilizer bypass system which is an addition to the RS system that needs to be installed.
