Default Help with pricing asap!!!

I just got off the phone with my parents and they are signing papers for a 2010 RX350 FWD for $49,600. This is what iit will be coming with.

Comfort package $1950
Cargo mat $92
12 speaker premium with sound levelizer $110
19 alloy $660
Navi hdd 1 year subscription and XM satellite with 90 day free trial $2465
Intuitive park assist $500
Premium with leather $2400
Tow prep package $238
Wheel locks $81
Wood and leather trim steering/shift knob $330
Cross bar $259

**UPDATED PRICING**
Total: $9085 + $875 (delivery) = $47210 + $2495 (chrome wheels)
= $49705 - $750 (loyalty program for buying cars from them before)
= $48955 - $660 (for replacing regular alloy wheels with chrome ones)
= $48295 * 6.25 (sales tax)
= $51313

After talking to them, my parents got the final price of $49600 TOTAL. Some lady got the exact same car but without the chrome rims and paid $47100. What do you guys think about this price now?

Prices vary from regions but this is a quote from one of the dealers in Mass "The RX350 without Nav has an MSRP of approx. $44306 with the last few selling in a price range from $40,502 to $40,752"

Another quote "The RX350 with Nav & the comfort package (bi-xenon headlamps) has an MSRP of approx. $47,841 with the last few selling in a price range from $43,643 to $43,893"

Again this is the quote I copy from one of the emails I got.

I can see where the dealers got their revenue from... When we push hard to get the good discount price, the dealers can always get some breaks from others who are willing to pay more.

LexusK, I think you should encourge your parents to check another dealer if possible, or talk again to get more discount.

I don't know this one. Is it necessary to pay this additional fee? You may get much lower price when you decide to renew after 3 month free trial (1 yr renewal fee may be less than $200. The Navi HDD update "might" be around 200-500.).

These $49600 or $47100 are the price after the tax? Did you mean you only have to pay $49600 (original after tax price $51313)?

Thanks.

From my own personal experience and from what I've read here and there, most people are getting roughly $4k off of sticker. Looks like your parents need to do some serious dickering or go elsewhere. For being past customers, they aren't being treated very well.

not to point out the obvious, but if they were about to sign papers, then it's too late to be asking if the price was right

I did the same thing with the first car I purchased, but was able to back out and get my deposit back once the responses came back telling me I was paying too much!

Still, I cannot figure out this new stuff. With the new Enform on RX10, Lexus does add some additional subscriptions into the package, but no matter how I calcualte, I cannot get this $2465...

wow, your parents 2010 350 was almost as much as my 450h. I paid $50030 for mine (b4 tax & title): AWD + the standard load (everything except Luxury pkg items).

$49600 for a FWD 350? What a joke! I'd tell your parents to cancel first thing Monday morning and shop around.

+1 kitlz, the stealership is taking advantage of them. The only way to buy a car is with the invoice in hand, you negociate up from there, not down from MSRP and never pay a processing fee!!
