Better, safer than using Remote Touch joystick, and when turned off, we'd save some gas $$ -- like when it's 63 degrees outside and you just want some fresh air without opening windows at 65 mph.

Same thing most of us do, hit 'Auto', then adjust temp year round as needed. Not sure what the fuss is unless I missed something. I think it's the easiest system to manage I've ever owned.

I think i have to give a little example
It seems " putting it on Auto " DOES NOT give justice to how wonderful AUTO really is
And some members are not getting thr REAL picture or stuck with their old ways.
I have my temp set to 74 and AUTO is always ON ( just like AUTO headlights, BSM, parking assist etc)
When outside temp is 85, i feel the aircondtioner right away with no outside Air
When outside temp is 61, i feel the heater comes on right away
When outdide temp is 74/75, it's outside air that comes in
The system is smart enough to adjust the direction of the vent.
Even if you have left the system ( face/head direction)
it will shift to ( face and feet) to prevent blowing cold/ hot air directly in your face.
If you want the system to work faster, then adjust the temp using the red/blue buttons.

I agree with you but some people just don't like to run that AC compressor all the time while driving.....it shouldn't be for economic reason because there is little or no MPG difference with or without compressor running.....I heard its actually good to run the compressor all the time to keep the compressor oil circulating.....so if we can control the temp from the dash, I really don't know what is the concern......

No, I don't play soccer!
I think keeping the AC helps more with eliminating odor issues. Now I did have the compressor replaced on the 300. It's pretty rare from what I've seen around here. And in my case was covered under extended warranty.

First thing I noticed when started driving it, no A/C button
I am not a fan of a/c due to colder weather in Ontario but during some hot days (like now) I am flipping screens while driving. I would put it to bad design, there are many useless buttons on dash that they could have gotten rid of and a/c there.

I total agree with you that the AC On/Off button should be on the dash board, when I brought the 2015 Rx350 last year didn't realized there is no AC on/off button. This is another example for Lexus/Toyota engineer old school design and try everything they can to reduce the cost to change the dash board layout, Also Lexus try to tell the customer what the luxury car it should be, what a joke..

Did you notice when the defroster is on, even when you split defrost and heat, the compressor is running. The little green light on the display is off but the AC is on. You cans tell it is on by listening to the engine RPM change when you turn the defrost on or off. Also you get condensate dripping from the car. Yes, I know the AC will dry the air for more effective defrosting most of the time. Just don't do it behind my back. The future of highly automated cars.

For some reason, by the way, GM cars and Mercedes have this down to a science, especially Caddy's.. "Auto" truly means automatic climate control on those cars. So far, I have never driven a Japanese make that is truly auto climate control.
