wildswing, welcome to CL and congrats on your RX. Just wanted to point out you're in the third generation RX forum. Your '09 is a second generation RX. Click here to be directed to it. I thought I'd tell you before you started wondering about 'missing' features

So the Wiki page is wrong. Sorry 'bout that. Thanks for the redirect. Just so I get schooled here, the division is between the 09 and 10 model years?

Welcome.

For the RX:
  • Gen 1 is 1999-2003
  • Gen 2 is 2004-2009
  • Gen 3 is 2010-2015 (there was a mid-life refresh beginning with the 2013 which included the spindle grille and more)
  • Gen 4 will be 2016+ (to be revealed by Lexus on 4/1/2015 in NY)

Hello All! Previous RX owner, had the 2004 and upgraded to the 2008. 2008 was totaled last week (@#$%@#$^&^&) by someone speeding in a shoulder lane and now swearing he was slowing down to turn. Physically impossible since he (Audi TT) hit my rear right quarter panel, flipped me on to the driver side and pushed another 10 feet. Love having a moonroof to be able to climb out when flipped on your side and those side airbags worked well, only two small bruises on me. Since I loved both previous RXs and the 08 was kind enough to save me, staying with RX for my new replacement.

Picking up the 2010 RX450H today as soon as they finish prepping it for me. 2004 was white, 2008 was Bamboo Pearl and with the 2010 we're going back to white. This is the first time we're trying the hybrid.

RIP:

FIRST, I'm glad you're OK and the RX performed it's final task well protecting you. Happy to hear you're coming into the 3rd Gen ranks. Be sure to post a picture when you have one. Congrats, just a little bit early!

nparmelee, so sorry to hear about the demise of your 2008 RX but being able to walk away relatively unscathed is far more important. And you picked a great replacement vehicle. I'm sure you'll enjoy the hybrid this time around. Good luck and post a picture of your RXh after you get it. It's mandatory around here

And our '10 is now ours. Our beagles should do a good job of giving it some nose art this weekend.

Now I can give you the official CONGRATULATIONS on that new-to-you RX. I loved the beagles my folks owned -- so loving -- those floppy ears, always a nose-to-the-ground, and both of them so loved stream fishing for years with my parents. Great pals. Enjoy your ride!!!

Selected for it's superior ride comfort over, we've broken 100 miles. Looking forward to an improvement over the highly reliable Toyota Highlander as we journey about.

RX350 with Navigation, Black on Black, Comfort, Navigation, Premium package.

I must admit - upgrading to the heated steering wheel in CT this spring might have made sense!!!

Newbee here from Rhode Island.
Just bought a pre-owned 2013 RX350 with 23K on it.
My first Lexus.
Traded in my Acura TL for it.

Welcome to CL and congrats on your new RX. Sounds like a beauty. Post a picture when you have a chance. I'm sure you'll enjoy the amenities of a Lexus over your former Highlander!

Thank you for the warm welcome.

Here is the only pic I have of my RX right now.
When I picked it up at the dealer.
It has saddle/maplewood interior

I plan on upgrading the wheels/tires, chrome exhaust tip to be added later.
