TSB was issued late last week. Fix is new clips and new bumper interior "rail". Will take a dealer a half day to perform. Some dealers have a small number of parts kits to fix, others are awaiting them. It is NOT a recall as of this date.

I hope this helps.

Best regards--

Well, it seems it's time for me to check this out again. I have been too lazy to figure this out.

My bumper has been like that since Day 1 in May. (Page 1 & 2)

Wish my dealer is fully aware of it this time. (In July?, my dealer said most of RX10 had the same gaps. I really forgot when...)

Bumper repaired today. We'll see if it holds up, but it looks a LOT better.

Smile Fixed bumper

How long did it take?
Did they scratch or mar your bumper?
It is a big deal to fix at the dealer?
Did you see them perform the fix/
Anything else you might offer?
Thanks

I talked to the tech that worked on the car and he told me he was on the phone almost a full day with Lexus getting the fix right. The repair involves a new design for the bumper, new brackets under the bumper and new clips.

Hopefully things will not loosen up again.

2 dealerships in NV one North one South, 500 miles apart.
Update 11/9/2009 - Just got the car back from 5000 mile service. Fix to bumper still holding up no problems yet.

It took about 4.5 hours, from drop off to completion call.
No damage to the bumper - if there was, they'd be repairing it free of charge, now wouldn't they?
Apparently, it's not a big deal to do, given the completion time. All that they required were the correct parts.
I was not at the dealar when the fix was performed.
Nothing else to offer, really. I took it in, they fixed it, and it looks fine now. Then again, this issue didn't appear until I'd had it for a month or so, so we'll see how it holds up...
