I hope this helps others to make great deals. All they have to do is call the same dealership and sales person I used. I live in Cape Coral and It was well worth the drive and they were very professional. This was not my first purchase from her and she always goes the extra mile. This site has been a help for info and I have used it for all my vehicles. It has provided great answers for issues that have come up such as DVD override and run flat tire issue (SC430 rough ride).

No. FWD/AWD makes a $1,500.00 difference. Since most of us get AWD, you need to add $1,500.00 to his price; it's still a good deal, but in comparing prices, both AWD and NAV (the 2 most common "options") add about $1,500.00 each, so it's always important to factor in whether those items are included in the car being considered.

tfischer, you are missing the point. Rather if a car is FWD, AWD Mark Levision or Luxury package. The mark up for the RX350 is somewhere between $5500 to $6500. $4000 off the MSRP of a AWD is as good as a deal as $4000 off a RWD. If Steve's RX was a AWD, that would make it at invoice. I dont think anybody have gotten that yet on a 2010.

Oh, I thought you were comparing absolute prices. If looking at the differential between sales price and either the dealer cost or the sticker, then we should all get the same number.

When I compare prices, I usually just go by how much more money over or under the dealer's invoice.

When I go shopping for a car, I look to see how much more money the dealer whats than I have in my account. If the check won't clear, no sale.

Don't forget that Steve had a trade-in. I think it would be great to get that price without a trade but don't forget the slight of hand that dealers can pull with trades. DNC's price looks pretty good as well - no trade, etc.

Just throwing it out there as a thought!

It was the same price with or without a trade for me. I just decided the trade value of 22K for a 03 lx470 with 78K was fair. You also save $1320 in sales tax in Florida that you do not have to pay which made it $23,320. I could have sold it for maybe $24 or so but this took all the work out of it. By the way, the HUD works great and keep your eye on the road. I will be taking a trip next week to break it in and try out all of the new toys. The side view camera works great also. The upgrade in leather is much softer and richer looking. The only weird thing missing is there is no place to put your change. The tray inside is good for the phone but not for change. Any ideas???

Using your numbers it looks like you gave around .915% of msrp. Using that %
on a 42500 car would be around 38920. I offered 39300 and was told the dealership would be losing 29 bucks on the deal. Guess your trade in is where they will make their money.

By junk fee, do you mean documentation fee? $600 is high for a doc fee, usually its half of that. Does that fee include registration fee?

How can the dealer lose money if you offer a thousand bucks over invoice. What the dealer really means is that, they can make more profit selling it to someone else. Just leave your phone number and price and I bet they will call you back soon,

39979 plus the 599 fee. So 40578.

Mostly everybody pays a documentation fee, believe it or not, some people have had success negotiating this fee. I think I paid $299.

I should add to my previous post that they also offered to pick me up at the
Ft. Myers airport for the ride to Naples. The conversations were pleasant and I'm sure the buying experience would be a good one. The price quoted was better than what they are going for down here(La.) but I have set a goal and
am in no hurry.
