ECM Calibration: Shifting Enhancement RX330
Reviving an old subject looking for updates. . . can anyone who has had this update done provide any feedback as to whether or not it has improved the overall shifting of the car?
I went in for my 5K service yesterday, and had requested the TSB be done at the same time. When I arrived for the appointment, the service advisor told me that the TSB was only for the ES300 and not for the RX330 (there seemed to be some confusion on this in the old thread too). He went on to say that they don't recommend clearing the info on the ECM anyway because the trans has to "re-learn" the shifting from scratch and fuel mileage is affected (if the car isn't shifting at its optimum points now, I can't imagine it would be getting optimum mileage anyway). Bottom line is that they didn't do it because they claimed that it didn't apply to my vehicle.
The shifting issue isn't a show-stopper for me, but it is noticeable at times and if there's some fix out there, I'd be willing to put up with some short-term inconvenience for longer-term improved smoothness.
I've emailed Lexus and am waiting for a response, but would like to know if any CLers out there have had this done, and whether it helped smooth out shifting on your vehicle.

I would recommend this update whole heartedly. Not only did the gears change more smoothly after the update, the "delay" for the tiptronic system dissapeared as well. Although the dealer said that the update took some of the power from the low RPMs, I didn't really experience it.
Overall, get it. It's all worth it.

I brought this up to the service consultant at our 30 day check. He also stated that the TSB was for the RX300 only. I then showed him TSB that I printed out (link from the other thread I think) and he sort of admonished me for having it. Wanted to know where I got it then said that these things should not be published. He agreed to schedule a time for the TSB to be taken care of. My treatment for the rest of the visit was quite unpleasant. Nothing like I had ever been told about how good Lexus Service was.

There was a link to the TSB on a previous thread but it appears to be gone now.

I had it done the week the new software came out - my Lexus svc dept (Sewell) knew exactly what the deal was and they were more than happy to perform the task - gave me a loaner and everything - The shifting seems fine since then.

Took mine in a couple weeks ago and mentioned the TSB, and was told there wasn't one for the RX330, only the IS300. Apparently, not all Lexus dealers are on the same computer network or database. If someone has the link to that TSB, please publish it.
Thx,
Rick

Ok, I just called my dealer and gave them that TSIB number and they FOUND it. It took them 30 minutes but he did find it and confirm it. So the number posted above (TC005-03) is correct. My dealer told me to remind him when I bring it in for the 5k service and to mention Op Code TC3001, whatever that is and he would be able to find it easier.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. Oddly, I've emailed Lexus Customer service and haven't yet received a response. I seem to receive an email daily (I've been traveling so haven't checked email in a couple of days) from them with a standard "we will respond within 24 hours, but if you need an answer immediately call 800, blah, blah, blah...", but there is no actual response to my query. I'm a bit surprised at this, since on the original thread about this ECM, someone (I can't recall who) stated they emailed Lexus and received a detailed response.
Also oddly, there is nothing about this TSB on the NHTSA website, where you can search TSBs by Year/Make/Model of your vehicle.....
