I am going to hardwire a V-1 Radar detector in our RX330. I was looking for someplace to mount the optional concealed display for this unit. It looks like it will fit in the little slot just under the far left driverside A/C vent. This is a little spring loaded pop out cup holder which we would never use.

The question is, how do you remove that little pop open cup holder? Does anybody have a service book that would answer this question? Any help or theory would be helpful. I don't want to force anything or break it. But just looking at it I have not been able to figure this one out.
