Anatomy of a Deal...or "How I Got 18's" by Daddy-O
It all began 11/25/02, when I first asked if the 04 RX 330 18" wheels would retrofit on my '02 RX 300.

I posted similar queries throughout the winter and spring, as I saw pics of these wheels.
It really started to come together, though, one warm summer evening in late June. CL member, jeffknet, (with a sweet Black Onyx '04 RX 330) was apparently vexed about chrome wheels...

Being an inquisitive sort, I posted a simple suggestion, "Get the chromes and if the Graphite Polished wheels have no scratches or bemishes...Sell them to me!"
What started the ball rolling was a PM from jeffknet, responding to my post...

Daddy-O (being the shrewd Mod he is) made me a "reasonable" offer for my barely used / no warranty wheels - I then used that $$ to offset the cost of chrome replicas from an aftermarket company in SoCal. It was win/win as Daddy-O got my OEM's for (what I considered) a HELLUVA deal, and I was out the door with my chromes (mounted and balanced) for less than $200/wheel.
I also want to commend Sewell Lexus in Dallas for doing an awesome job of removing and repacking the Polished Graphites - I'm sure Daddy-O can attest to the condition the wheels were in upon arrival. I also want to give props to Coby McDougal with Sewell for "finding" me OEM Lexus wheel caps at no extra charge - no one can tell they're replicas.... can you??

The wheels were in great shape. I asked jeffknet to post up close-ups of the wheels in his gallery. I wanted to be sure that they were what he said they were. He took care of of with style
I went to UPS and found the shipping costs and added what I hoped would cover boxes, too. I made an offer...We went back and forth over the price and the deal was done. I git out the door, mounted and balanced, too, for less than $200 wheel.
But I also had to buy tires at $152 each, though.
The point of this post was to show that deals between CL members can be done without hassle or confusion. I waited 8 months to get these wheels. When they were available, I simply posted up. A few simple steps can make it all good for all parties involved.

I think the point was to promote more trust and deals among CL members and people had been wanting details about Daddy-O's RX300 and how the new 18's would look and fit.
I'd love to know where on eBay you can find stock 18" Lexus OEM RX330 wheels for $399
The best deal on chromes outright is $1000.00

There was set of sold by DISCOUNT TIRE just a week and a half again. The end price was at $405 for all 4 wheels. They are second hands like urs in mint condition. So that's where I found it. Call up Discount Tire if you think I am joking or something. Maybe some other CL members have looked at that auction as well and would know what I am talking about.
As for direct purhase for $1000 on a set of 18" Replicas Chrome wheels. Why waste the money on a set of 18" stock wheels period.
