Default What can I expect for below MSRP on '04 RX330 ?

For purchase, not leasing. With whatever package has the 18" wheels, HID, and power door....what should I be able to see for a final price...also with AWD or FWD

Is it reasonable to expect $38,000 for FWD model and 2 grand higher for AWD ?

you're best bet is the Performance Package - the dealers tend to be more flexible on these as it's more of a niche market - more sport over luxury - it is a bit more expensive but comes with all the cool stuff - AFL HID Lights / E-Shift / 18" Polished Graphite Wheels / Air Suspension - if you add on the Nav/Rearview Cam you can expect to pay around 41/42K

Check www.carsdirect.com. Prices will vary depending on your zip code. You should be able to negotiate a lower price than the carsdirect price.

For example, in LA/Orange County, California, a FWD, ML/NAV package, heated seats w/RS wipers MSRP price was $43,408. Carsdirect price was only $1000 off. However, using a San Diego zipcode, the carsdirect price was $2700 off.

I then contact various dealers' Internet sales for quotes and received prices that ranged from $2000 off to $2900 off. I was able to negotiate a price of $40,480 plus T&L for the MSRP $43408 car (cash sale, no trade).

One day before my car arrived at the dealership, another dealer tried to get me business by offering a $40,356 deal for the same car but I did not want to be placed back on another waiting list for the incoming cars.

All of my dealing was done over the Internet or telephone. Just make sure you get enough quotes to see what the market is in your area. On the West Coast, you can get a better deal on the FWD since the allocation is larger than AWD.

Good luck

LexusRX330,
Which two dealerships offered you those deep discounts?

Dereki,

The $2900 off MSRP was from Westminster Lexus. I received quotes of $2000 off from Jim Falk of Beverly Hills and Longo Lexus. I made a deal with Longo Lexus but Jim Falk kept emailing and calling while I was waiting for Longo to get the car. Jim Falk offered $3052 off MSRP the day before I picked up my car at Longo.

Thanks for the info!
How long did you have to wait for the car to arrive? The dealers didn't have the one you wanted in the lot? I want to get one that's built in Japan. Since Lexus will start building RX330 in Canada starting in September, just wondering If I still have a chance.

Dereki,
Most of the cars on the lot did not have the Nav package. You might want to ask the dealer to check their allocation list to see which colors/options are arriving soon. Longo receives many cars so you should be able to get a Japan made one if you hurry. I agreed to a price on May 27 and picked up the car on June 19 (23 day wait).

You can get these options with the Premium Plus Package. I think all of these are arriving on the west coast (at least in CA) with the 18" rims. MSRP is about $39.4K with FWD. I know that some southern CA dealers are offering this model for $37K. We purchased on June 30th, and thanks to some very favorable circumstances, we were able to save a few hundred below that.

Keep in mind I am referring to the purchase price before T.T.L.; not the final "out-the-door" cost.

LexusRX330,
Can you tell me who you negotiated with at Longo? I'm in the process of dealing with them.

Also can you tell me the exterior/interior color of your car so that I can get a better idea with my own negotiation since it depends alot on the color combination.

dereki,
I bought my car from Rob M. He is not in Internet sales. The reason I bought from Rob was because he was the person I first test drove the RX with while my ES was in for service. This was a few weeks before I started getting Internet quotes from the various dealers.

I have Silver with Black interior. I think Longo gets quite a few of these because 2 identically equipped cars came in 1 week before mine. Also as I was filling out the paperwork in the showroom, another Silver/Black was brought out front and I assumed it was mine but another couple just took delivery of it.

I bought mine from Rob M. also. Very professional. I emailed a few dealers initially to get the best quotes, then I went to test drive the car. I gave him my best quote and he was able to beat it. Black/Black with chrome wheels.
