Default RX330 Owners in So. Cal

Would like to know where you purchased/leased your RX and how the deal went. Reason is my Mom went to get one last night - she drove it, liked it, agreed on the pricing & options, was a few minutes away from signing the deal and then the dealer (Mission Viejo) trys to stick it to her with a 7.9% interest rate. She told them to take a flying leap and left the place. I was pretty shocked that they pulled that on her - she doesn't have credit problems, owns her house, has plenty of income, etc. Oh also, I remember when I got my GS a few years back I was given a $1k discount because my Dad was a Lexus owner. When my Mom told them that her son owned a Lexus and asked for that same family loyalty discount, she was told that it wasn't applicable to the RX330. I told her that if she really likes the car to arrange her own financing.

Anyone out there with a good experience? Please share dealer name and sales person. Thanks!

The Lexus Loyalty rebate definitely will not apply to the RX330. As for the 7.9% rate, if your mom had already agreed to the price and options, she should just shop the rate. If she can beat it, the lexus dealer will more then likely match the best rate she can present. Plug in 60 month rate in Orange County, CA on bankrate.com and you'll see most rates around the 4.29 - 4.49% range. Some credit unions can do a 4.09% rate as well. 7.9% is pretty high for excellent credit but again, if you haven't shopped and presented a competitive rate the dealers will try to hit you up with their higher rates first.

Now if Lexus of Mission Viejo is off the list, I would recommend you (or your mom) give the internet sales team a chance with some of the other local/regional dealerships. You can usually get a competitive quote this way and then can quickly decide from there. Also if you are in the South Orange County area, if you are willing to take a drive down to San Diego, you may be able to get a better deal on the RX330. At least through carsdirect.com, you can get a FWD 330 for around $2500 off MSRP, where as in Orange County, carsdirect only offers $500 off MSRP.

As for myself, we had a great experience working with the internet sales division with Longo Lexus in El Monte. However, we bought one of the last RX300's and not the new 330, but I don't think that was a factor in how we were treated at that dealership.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've emailed a link to this thread to my Mom. I'll suggest the internet sales team as well. Longo's service dept helped me out with a tranny problem when another dealer's service dept wouldn't a couple years back. Thanks again.

Last month I picked up my new GX470 from Lexus Carlsbad. On top of a great price on the car we were offered 4.25% interest rate financing from lexus for 60mos. We did not take it b'cas my CU offered us 3.84%.

My salesperson was Ron Alvano (their internet salesperson). I made the deal over the phone in 10min. After agreeing on the car and price, next day my wife changed her mind on the color, and I told him that I do not want lexus link. He did his best to arrange the car from some other dealership keeping the same deal (ofcourse adjusting for the lexus link). When we went to pickup the car it was ready, all the paperwork was ready as well. After test drive, it took us about 15min to complete the paperwork and then go to the car for orientation. Great service!

I would definitely suggest to you call them and talk to them for RX330 quotes, and financing. Good luck!

Thumbs up

I got mine last month at Crown Lexus in Ontario, CA. Got way more than $1000 off, top dollar on my trade, and less than 4% intrest for financing. My salesperson was Chad and I am so happy that we stopped by after the major disappointment from Mission Viejo Lexus and Longo as well. Good luck!
